Mississippi County Economic Development and Garver invite the community to attend the upcoming Base Wide Land Use Public Meeting and be part of the conversation about the future of the Arkansas Aeroplex.

The Base Wide Land Use Plan is being developed to help guide future growth, development, infrastructure, land use, aviation, recreation, and economic opportunities across the Aeroplex. Community and stakeholder input is an important part of this process. 💬

This is our moment to change the narrative. We have renewed energy, fresh perspectives, new leadership, and a community full of people who care deeply about where we’re headed.

📢 Your Voice Matters for Big Lake

The proposed kayak kiosk at Big Lake has officially entered the public comment period, and now is the time for our community to be heard.

Whether you’re a hunter, angler, paddler, birdwatcher, landowner, business owner, or simply someone who loves Big Lake, your perspective is valuable. Public comment is an important part of the decision-making process and helps ensure that local voices are considered.

Big Lake is one of Mississippi County’s greatest natural treasures. Thoughtful conversations about its future should include the people who know it, use it, and care about it most.

We encourage everyone to review the proposal, consider its potential impacts and opportunities, and submit respectful, constructive comments before the deadline.

This isn’t just about a kayak kiosk…its place that has shaped our community for generations and can have tremendous impact on our Quality of Life.

Let’s make sure Mississippi County is represented.

The refuge was established in August of 1915 by Executive Order of President Woodrow Wilson to serve as an inviolate sanctuary, reserve, and breeding ground for native and migratory birds. It is one of the nation’s oldest refuges and is 11,038 acres in size.
