Meet our August Spotlight Employee… Nate!
Nate has been with Sunny Days Northwest for four months as our Director of Operations. Originally from Oil City, he still calls Oil City home with his wife, Emma, and their three children, Irelyn, Arlo, and Maren. Their family also includes a black lab named Mia and a cat named Jinxy.

Outside of work, Nate says he’s usually getting dragged along to one of his kids’ activities! He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, watching just about any sport, and listening to country and classic rock. His favorite food is Reubens, his favorite movie is Superbad, and a fun fact about him is that he lived in Texas for four years.

One of Nate’s favorite parts about working with Sunny Days Northwest is supporting the Field Manager team and knowing the work they do for clients serves a bigger purpose. He also appreciates working with his supervisor, Heather Dugan, who he says has helped him grow tremendously. His favorite company memories include golf outings, Kennywood, picnics, and getting the chance to know everyone better.

Nate’s advice to new employees is to be patient, trust your experience, and stay open to the advice you’re given. And when it comes to his life mantra, Nate keeps it simple: “It is what it is.”

We’re so happy to have Nate as part of the Sunny Days Northwest team. Congratulations on being our August Spotlight Employee!

Yesterday we celebrated Steve and his retirement! 🎉❤️

It’s hard to put into words just how much Steve has meant to our Sunny Days family over the years. He has been so much more than a coworker. He’s been a friend, someone we could always count on, and simply a big part of Sunny Days.

We are definitely going to miss seeing Steve and hearing his stories, but we are so happy for him!

After all those years of hard work, Steve is officially trading in his work days for his Sunny Days! ☀️😎

Congratulations, Steve! Thank you for all the laughs, memories, hard work, and everything you have brought to Sunny Days over the years. We will miss you more than you know and hope you enjoy every minute of retirement! ❤️

Kelly Burgess and her team are doing a phenomenal job ensuring our clients receive top-notch care. Our caregivers throughout the U.P. of Michigan and Northern Wisconsin continually go above and beyond even braving harsh winter conditions to make sure care is delivered when our clients need it most.

Our Great Lakes team truly embodies what it means when we say, “We Do Important Work.”

Our original Sunny Days In-Home Care location set the bar high by making the Inc. 5000 list four years in a row, and we are incredibly excited to see Great Lakes continuing that tradition of growth.

As Sunny Days continues to grow and provide more “hours of good,” our focus remains the same: delivering quality care to people in the comfort of their own homes.
