Are you familiar with the concept of the Traffic Light Theory? Life doesn’t always move when you want it to—sometimes it forces you to stop at red lights that feel like rejection, or sit in yellow moments that test your patience and make you question everything. But what if those pauses were never meant to punish you, only to protect you from paths that would have broken you or timing that would have cost you more than you realize? We get so frustrated watching others move forward while we feel stuck, not knowing that our stillness is part of our safety, our becoming. And maybe the hardest lesson is this: trusting that your green light will come—not late, not early, but exactly when you’re ready to move without losing yourself along the way.

Most people let one bad hour bleed into the next fifteen.

A tough call at 10am becomes a wasted morning.
A rough lunch becomes a thrown-away afternoon.

The highest performers I know do something different.

They reset fast.

Not because they don't feel it.
Because they refuse to let one moment set the tone for every moment after it.

Bad meeting? Start fresh at the next one.
Awkward conversation? New chapter begins when it ends.

You can't control what hits you.
You can control how long you carry it.

That skill alone will separate you from 95% of people.

I write a weekly newsletter where I unpack these ideas.

We often meet leaders who are doing everything they can to stay on track.

And still find themselves having to work harder than they expected just to maintain momentum.

One client shared it this way:

“Before I joined, it took much effort to get back on track. Now I have a clear intention, and my day flows. Operations and HR have more alignment than ever. If I get off track, I know I’m a phone call away from staying focused on my vision.”

What changed wasn’t effort.

It was alignment.

Clarity around priorities.
Stronger connection across the team.
And a structure that supports the leader, instead of depending on them.

That’s where momentum starts to feel different.

Not forced.
But consistent.

This is the kind of shift we see when leaders move out of the day-to-day and back into their vision.

At a certain point in growth, the challenge isn’t effort.

It’s how much of the business is still flowing through you.

You might notice it in small ways.

You want to delegate more, but key responsibilities still come back to you.
Your team is capable, but clients still rely on you.
You’re spending more time in the day-to-day than you expected.

And the work that actually scales the business keeps getting pushed out.

Over time, it can start to feel like the company needs you more, not less.

This is often what we call the Founder’s Trap.

Not because anything is wrong.

But because the business has outgrown how it was originally built.

If any of this resonates, it may be worth taking a closer look.

We created a short Founder’s Trap Assessment to help you identify where you are and what may be keeping things dependent on you.

We often work with leaders who have been successful for years and still find themselves more involved in the day-to-day than they would like.

One client had been in business for 18 years and reached a point where she felt frustrated.

Not because the business wasn’t working.

But because more of the business was still flowing through her than it should.

After working together, something shifted.

She shared,
“I now have a partner who brings ideas and helps guide my team. It’s taken me out of the day-to-day.”

She was able to step away for multiple weeks at a time, with the business continuing to move forward, and saw significant revenue growth, including a 174% increase.

That kind of growth doesn’t come from doing more.

It comes from shifting how leadership, teams, and client relationships are aligned.

This is a pattern we see often as companies move into their next stage of growth.

This is the kind of shift we’ll be exploring in our upcoming Mastermind.

LAST CALL

Registration for the March Momentum Experience: Alignment, Attunement & Action closes Wednesday, March 11 at Noon EST.

As leaders, we often clearly carry the vision for our companies in our minds. Yet when that vision is not communicated in ways that inspire engagement, teams become dependent, decisions stall, and momentum slows.

In honor of Women’s History Month, join us for the Every Day Is Friday March Momentum Experience, where we will strengthen how we, as leaders, communicate the shared vision so that alignment deepens, attunement grows, and teams move into action together.

This experience includes our experiential Master Class and Mastermind:
▶ Communicate to Elevate: Inspire Alignment, Attunement & Action

Thursday, March 12, 2026
10:00AM – 11:15AM Eastern

You will also receive:

• A Private Breakthrough Strategy Session to turn your “uh oh” into an “ah ha,” clarify your vision, and fast-track your goals.

• Wednesday Wisdom for Women Leaders | a dedicated space to be seen, heard, celebrate wins, and remove challenges alongside your success sisters.

Limited space is available.
▶ Doors close March 11 at Noon EST.

If strengthening how you communicate vision and shared values is part of your leadership growth this year, I would be honored to have you join us.

Let’s continue building companies that are profitable, productive, and in their prime. Let’s make every day feel fun & fulfilling – like a Friday!

Executive Presence is not about having the loudest voice in the room.

It is about the energy, clarity, and responsibility we bring to every interaction.

During Women’s History Month, watch this video that describes two women's journeys working in a male-majority environment. One as a coach. The other is a finance leader with aspirations for the C-suite. Their experiences open an important conversation about the leadership qualities most forward-thinking business leaders desire today.

Our discussion begins with Executive Presence and the leadership framework P.O.W.E.R.

Patience: And When We Can’t Be Patient At Least Pause, Take a Breath.
Reframe, Refresh, And Refocus On Your Vision.

Openness: Be Curious, Receptive, Listen Deeply, Feel All Feelings,
Offer Full Permission To Be Human. Learn And Have Fun.

Warmness: Self-Care, Self-Empathy, Collaboration, Contribution, Kindness And Respect Even When We Disagree.

Expressiveness: Be 100% Authentically Ourselves. Offer Our Truth, Appreciation, And Wisdom To Others.

Responsibility: Hold Our Standards. Take 100% Responsibility For Positive Resolution.

If this conversation resonates with you, I invite you to continue the conversation.

On this International Women’s Day, I’ve been reflecting on a quieter form of power.
Self-respect.
Not the kind that comes from status or performance.
The kind that begins in the tone of our own inner voice.
How we pause.
How we speak to ourselves.
How we choose our own rhythm.
Today’s piece is called “The Rhythm of Self Respect.”

Self Respect as Sacred Leadership Boundaries, coherence, and nervous system safety.

There comes a moment in many growing companies when things feel heavier than they need to be.

We know where we want our company to go. Yet decisions still route back to us. Too much of progress depends on our involvement.

Sometimes we secretly doubt our own ability to lead. We want to lead with grace and ease. We want a Client Wow experience. We want efficiency and effectiveness within operations, yet often times our teams haven’t been trained enough on how to do this.

When vision and shared values are not consistently communicated, teams hesitate. Productive conflict softens. Delegation feels risky. Some team members quietly wonder what their future looks like inside the company and quietly quit.

Decision bottlenecks and limited delegation eventually stall scalability.

Enrollment changes everything.

When our vision is inspiring and clearly tied to shared values, people lean in. They engage offering ideas before we even ask. Before our clients ask. They grow. They make aligned decisions without waiting for direction. But first we grow. Leader’s go first.

Clarity at every level means we need to align.

Alignment starts with self-awareness and is the foundation for how your leadership shows up in your organization and, more importantly, our world. It includes your messaging and the way you communicate with others.

Alignment creates action.

If this resonates, take our Founder’s Trap Assessment to identify the patterns that may be limiting your growth, influence, and leadership capacity. http://bit.ly/4udMT0A

You don’t have to be a Founder to be in the Founder’s Trap. This can happen within any size company and in any industry. So take our assessment. It will help.

It takes less than 5 minutes, and you’ll receive a report back in your inbox right away. You’ll even have a chance to talk to one of our business coaches about your report to turn your “uh-oh” into an “Ah-ha”.

Let’s continue building companies that are profitable, productive, and in their prime. Let’s make every day feel freer, fun, and fulfilling, like a Friday.
