Kellenās Birth Story š¶š¼
After a sleepless night from back pain (not labor, just discomfort), I woke up at 41+3 feeling so ready to meet our boy.
We had a plan to try the midwives brew at 41+5, but I texted my midwife and said that I just could not do another night like that.
We dropped Titus off with grandma and grandpa, I drank the (half-dose, not even finished) brew around 1 pm!
Around 3:30ā4, I had some intense GI upset after a walk and turned on worship music, and prayed something would happen by 5 pm because I couldnāt stomach another smoothie.
Sure enough, contractions started right at 5:00. They were 3ā4 minutes apart, 45 seconds long, and I was able to manage them with breathwork.
By 6:30, they were every 2 minutes and our birth team headed over.
This labor felt so intuitive.
No one was telling me what to doāI just listened to my body.
Toilet, walking, laying down, showerāI moved where I felt led.
When I needed a break, I got in the tub (Nathan thinking, āWhy slow down now?ā), but it gave me exactly what I needed!
After lying down again, I felt him drop.
Next contraction, I was on hands and knees bearing downāit overwhelmed me.
I jumped back into the tub, knowing I wasnāt having this baby anywhere else but the tub.
Started pushing and 14 minutes later he was born at 11:02, fast and fierce, with his little hand by his faceājust like his brother!
He cried right away.
We crawled into bed and soaked in those sweet first moments.
We had prayed for a 6 hour labor and got just under that. So incredibly peaceful and at the most perfect place⦠home⦠to bring our baby into the world. I hope these photos can give a small glimpse into the absolute beauty that home birth is. There is genuinely nothing like it. If youāre considering if a home birth is a good fit for you please reach out to me I would love to chat about all the details!š¤
