Hello! I wanted to re introduce myself since it’s been a while and I’ve had a lot more followers recently!

My name is Hunter, I’m 27 years old and I am married to my incredible husband, Nathan. He works in financial advising and writes articles for BNN! We have our 2 special boys, Titus (3) and Kellen (5 months) who were both born at home and are truly just the sweetest boys I have ever known 🄹 I am very blessed to be able to stay home and care for them primarily but I also take on quite a few births per month and I also have a job with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes!

Some fun facts about me:
- I love Jesus first and foremost! I have followed the Lord my whole life and did an internship for 2 years at our church.
- I was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ… I don’t like it there and don’t ever plan on moving back 🤣
- I played D1 college softball for 2 years (I was a pitcher and actually was originally recruited to pitch & hit… until I started injuring myself too often. Then my HS coach just called it and said I’m a PO, & honestly? So grateful šŸ˜‚)
- I also played volleyball until my freshman year of HS
- I have an extensive medical history that I believe is the reason I’m able to help families advocate so well in the hospital setting.
- I played the Tuba…. 😬
- I also have played clarinet, piano & guitar but sports always took precedent over music 😜
- I couldn’t even cook boxed mac n cheese right, until I got to college
- I LOVE FOOD. I married Nathan who is a mega analyzer of all things (in a really fun wayšŸ˜‰) and into his family who are big foodies. I’ve learned a lot and now I really love to be in the kitchen cooking or baking it is my happy place!
- While I love food I also have a ton of food intolerances so I’ve learned how to be creative!
- my husband and i looooove to hike and be outside but hiking has taken the back burner since having kids
- I have a goddaughter who is the most perfect little girl šŸ˜ how fun to have boys but be blessed by having a goddaughter 🄹
- I am in a book club and really love to read. If I’m taking a lunch or dinner break at a birth odds are I am reading
- Fall & Summer are my FAVORITE

For moms to be and new doulas! Everything in my doula bag, do I use everything in here at every birth? Absolutely not. I usually grab one or two things and those things are usually a birth comb and peppermint oil 😜. I truly trust my clients and their intuition so much and that usually leads them to doing things that they don’t need tools for!

I will post in stories at a later time what I use each oil for! šŸ¤

Kellen’s Birth Story šŸ‘¶šŸ¼

After a sleepless night from back pain (not labor, just discomfort), I woke up at 41+3 feeling so ready to meet our boy.
We had a plan to try the midwives brew at 41+5, but I texted my midwife and said that I just could not do another night like that.

We dropped Titus off with grandma and grandpa, I drank the (half-dose, not even finished) brew around 1 pm!

Around 3:30–4, I had some intense GI upset after a walk and turned on worship music, and prayed something would happen by 5 pm because I couldn’t stomach another smoothie.
Sure enough, contractions started right at 5:00. They were 3–4 minutes apart, 45 seconds long, and I was able to manage them with breathwork.

By 6:30, they were every 2 minutes and our birth team headed over.

This labor felt so intuitive.
No one was telling me what to do—I just listened to my body.
Toilet, walking, laying down, shower—I moved where I felt led.

When I needed a break, I got in the tub (Nathan thinking, ā€œWhy slow down now?ā€), but it gave me exactly what I needed!

After lying down again, I felt him drop.
Next contraction, I was on hands and knees bearing down—it overwhelmed me.
I jumped back into the tub, knowing I wasn’t having this baby anywhere else but the tub.

Started pushing and 14 minutes later he was born at 11:02, fast and fierce, with his little hand by his face—just like his brother!

He cried right away.
We crawled into bed and soaked in those sweet first moments.

We had prayed for a 6 hour labor and got just under that. So incredibly peaceful and at the most perfect place… home… to bring our baby into the world. I hope these photos can give a small glimpse into the absolute beauty that home birth is. There is genuinely nothing like it. If you’re considering if a home birth is a good fit for you please reach out to me I would love to chat about all the details!šŸ¤

Thank you .birth.doula for these photos. I didn’t think I would actually want photos but WOW to be able to remember these sweet moments has been amazing. 🄹

thank you for caring for us so well and for delivering both of my babies! I will never be able to fully express my gratitude

International day of the midwife. I have so many words of thanks for midwives in Idaho. As a Mom who has been under the care of midwives twice, as a doula who has seen my best friends life saved as well as my clients who have been cared for so deeply and beautifully all by midwives it is not lost on me how lucky we are in Boise to be blessed by so many incredible midwives.

You see women as a whole and not just their pregnancy, you include their spouses and children in a way they wouldn’t have been in other settings. You LISTEN, gosh if there is one thing about midwives I adore it is how well all of you listen to the woman in front of you and trust her gut and instinct as a Mother.

I can not say enough words about how much I adore and appreciate the work of midwives and especially the ones we get here in the treasure valley. 🄹

Unless another baby decides to surprise us tonight here’s my year in review! This year has been the most incredible one yet and I cannot thank the families I served enough for trusting me to walk them through the journey of bringing their baby into the world! No better way I wanted to end this year out than welcoming another baby girl today!

Thank you Jesus for this line of work, being a doula is the best job and I’m beyond grateful for this line of work 🄹

Getting to meet up and hangout with past mommas and their babies is one of my favorite things and probably Titus’s favorite as well🄹 this (not so little) blueberry and her family will always have such a special place in my heart, odd complications arose in this birth and yet they all handled it with an INCREDIBLE joy and grace, something I will never ever forget! My life is truly forever changed by this sweet family!šŸ¤

I can’t believe this is my job?! 😭

Birth is FUN!! Yes it’s hard but lots of things are hard! Birth can totally have moments of fun and joy!šŸ˜ Take a minute in your labor to fully embrace and enjoy the process of bringing your little teeny tiny baby into the world!

Friendly reminder we’re only laughing and cracking jokes if Mom is the one who initiates that change in her environment, she’s the one in charge here šŸ˜‰

I couldn’t forget about my doula families on this trip?!!šŸ˜‚ honestly I had such a profound appreciation for mothers after our trip to the louvre yesterday. It is so incredible to me how things really haven’t changed from centuries ago. Babies still breastfeed through toddlerhood, co-sleeping, toddlers still steal moms food, they are obsessed with Mom even sometimes when Dad is still right there..

The last photo is unmatched and I’m sure every breastfeeding mom can relate to that one. Nathan immediately looked at me and says ā€œwow things don’t really change that much do theyā€ šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Hope you enjoyed these as much as I did 😜
