Your Mantra for Today: *DoNotWait*

As in yesterday's post, Thursday's PSA also reminds us about the importance of something not discussed much these days: .

in-i-ti-a-tive [ih-nish-uh-tiv, ih-nish-ee-uh-tiv]
NOUN
1 an introductory act or step; leading action.
to take the initiative in making friends.
2 readiness and ability in initiating action; enterprise.
to lack initiative.
Synonyms: dynamism, forcefulness, leadership
3 one's personal, responsible decision.
to act on one's own initiative.

There's a fourth definition that involves government "initiative." But that one doesn't apply here and I'm not convinced it applies much anywhere. ;-)

However, as far as in the life of a Trusted Advisor...there are countless applications.

The time will never be right. So, do not wait!

Your Mantra for Today: *LeadershipIsGroundedByCharacter*

Wednesday's PSA reminds us about the importance of something not discussed much these days: .

If you've never researched the word, I suggest you do now. It's got a lot of layers to it. But for our purpose here, I believe this one captures best what Robert is conveying.

char·ac·ter (kăr′ək-tər)
n.

1.
a. The combination of mental characteristics and behavior that distinguishes a person or group. See Synonyms at disposition.
b. The distinguishing nature of something. See Synonyms at quality.

2.
a. Moral strength; integrity: an educational program designed to develop character.
b. Public estimation of someone; reputation: personal attacks that damaged her character.

Especially relevant to the world of Trusted Advisors, character is what keeps you going long after the initial thrill is gone.

Keep going with your resolution anyway!

Your Mantra for Today: *GettingThroughMattersMoreThanGivingOut*

Tuesday's PSA challenges the notion that sharing information is intrinsically useful.

It might be. But it's not automatic. No matter who is conveying the information.

💡 What really matters is getting through. But that's not the same as just doling out facts, figures, opinions, the latest initiatives, recent wins, etc.

Communicating is harder. Getting through establishes the connection between the information shared and the one receiving it. That receiving should lead to something: pivots, motivation, action, reaction...something.

Maybe that's why it's so uncommon.

Your Mantra for Today: *CultureEqualsOrganizationalHabits*

Monday's PSA comes from a wise but unknown source.

👉 Are you happy with your organization's habits? Even if your organization is comprised of only you?

💡 Consider this: most habits are unconscious and unexamined. We just do what we do because what we do is what we did.

⚔️ It's really that simple...and uncomfortably simplistic.

Neither of which is a good thing.

Your Mantra for Today: *HardWorkDreams*

Thursday's PSA comes from Colin Powell.

The dream doesn't work without the hard work. No magic is involved.

Also, plan to get sweaty along the way.

Your Mantra for Today: *ThinkCarefullyAboutLosing*

Wednesday's PSA comes from G.K. Chesterton.

Go for a walk with this one. You deserve the deepest focus to consider the full implications of what he's saying.

Your Mantra for Today: *NotAboutAbility*

Tuesday's PSA comes from John Maxwell.

💡 How much do you really desire to reach your full potential?
💡 Are you half-hearted about it? Intimidated by it? Already stuck?

While it can feel like it's an impossible climb to reach your potential...it's not. That's because there are just a handful of very common mindset issues that can get in the way. And that's where we can help!

Schedule a chat. We come unarmed. No pressure; no cost. If nothing else, you'll make a new friend.

Your Mantra for Today: *TheArchitectIsMe*

The Lionheart Series
👉 Monday's PSA called us to greater bravery, never forgetting your clients seek you out as a trusted advisor to bravely keep the faith on their behalf when they waver.
👉 Tuesday's PSA reminded us that challenges are inevitable, defeat is not.
👉 Wednesday's PSA delivered simple actions steps to conquer our fear: get busy.
👉 Thursday's PSA urged us to take action, even before action is required, simply because "waiting for the right time" is a fool's errand...and self-defeating.

👉 Our final PSA in this series flat out challenges us to own how we see the world. It's a choice we make born from 1) our attitudes and 2) our experiences. We can choose to be inspired by our worldview...or scare ourselves into paralysis and inaction.

Either way, we're the ones doing the choosing. And our choosing directly impacts our designing.

The more you consider what Kaufman is asserting the more potent the implications become.

"We can scare ourselves or inspire ourselves."

Which way do you habitually lean?

Have a great weekend as you reflect on that question.
