Yesterday I’ll admit — I was a little downhearted because I couldn’t be in Nebraska with my kids for Thanksgiving .

The day before, I looked at the dogs and thought “Alright grumble, pack your bags, we’re going to Nebraska!”

But then I looked into Penelope’s eyes and knew… nope there was no way we were gonna make Thanksgiving.

I’m coming up on 24 hours with no sleep, and honestly? It feels like a relief -I’m exhausted from worry and checking on her every hour on the hour for the past week. Being in charge of a round-the-clock maternity ward isn’t for the faint of heart.

No Black Friday shopping for me today, I’ll be catching up on some much needed sleep.

But watching these puppies arrive safely into the world… and knowing the joy they’re going to bring to the families who’ve been waiting so long for them? Makes every sacrifice — even missing Thanksgiving — completely worth it.🐾💗

(I’ll give an update on number of puppies and genders when she’s done)
