Lately I've been taking an inward journey, so-to-speak. As you might know by now - the proverbial Mercury is in retrograde (May 18 - June 11), and it's also in the sign of Gemini. Mercury in retrograde is usually seen as a cosmic bother, the little trickster planet acting up, and messing with all forms of communication, travel, etc. But there is a deeper, more cosmic nature to Mercury, and when it goes retrograde we are invited to review our lives in a more profound way. In mythology, Mercury guided souls to the underworld, and he also had the role of being the messenger that could travel back and forth from the underworld to the heavens. Yesterday I received a reiki session from Nancy O'Fallon - during which time I was spontaneously transported back in time to my childhood, somewhere between the ages of 6 and 8. I was raised mostly by my grandmother, so I spent the hour remembering and re-visiting the house I used to live in, the things I would play with, my friends, my neighborhood, my feelings. It was really magical to connect with my child-self, and to re-integrate that who I was into that who I am today. We never truly lose ourselves, but sometimes we forget our essence. At the end of the session Nancy asked if i had an older female relative that had passed on - like a grandmother perhaps? She came to say how much she loved you, Nancy said. Cosmic indeed! In ancient astrology the planet Mercury rules the period of life from age 5 to 14, and Gemini rules messages. A good time for receiving messages from the past :)

Super Cosmic Event Today! In triplets! First we have a solar eclipse in the very last degree of Pisces - time for a huge letting go of something - in some area of your life something is about to change and not be the same! Eclipses can have an influence over the next six months. Next we have a new moon/supermoon -very close to the earth, having a major effect on the oceans and tides on a physical level, and on a personal level a time of auspicious and powerful beginnings. And finally the Spring Equinox, when the light returns and begins to illuminate our spirits! A great day for planting a seed in your heart of hearts!

Sometimes astrology can shed light on freaky events! 2 nights ago my band was playing a gig at a local pub. I'm the bass player, and all of a sudden on the very last song my index finger started to lock up and spasm (it's called "trigger finger") and I couldn't play the bass!! I really freaked out - this had never happened to me before! The next day I looked at my chart - sure enough - Mercury (which rules communication and also hands and fingers) was making a stressful aspect to my natal Saturn (can be limitation and blockage)!! The aspect was exact at the time the event happened! Fortunately this is a relatively quick aspect so hopefully it won't recur - but it was weird and interesting to see the connection so clearly!

Anyone else feeling kind of dreamy or spacey or swimmy besides me? 3 planets conjunct in the sign of Pisces right now - Moon, Neptune, & Mercury - representing emotions, imagination and otherworldliness, and thought processes! A good time to meditate, do art, or do some music! Not a great day for bookkeeping hahaha.

We are now in a period of Saturn retrograde - from March 14 - August 2, 2015. Saturn, especially could try your patience - as this planet is also know as "Father Time". Any planet with a retrograde motion (seen to travel backwards) means that we have the opportunity to re-evaluate certain aspects of our life. Saturn likes to ask "What kind of business are you in?" Now is a good time to review the structures in our life such as work, business, career. Lynn Koiner states "During the period when Saturn is transiting retrograde, it is essential that we go back and assess and solidify commitments made, projects started and responsibilities undertaken in the past. This must be done before we can continue. Saturn ... retrograde provides the opportunity to reassess what we have taken on, to finally say NO, to back out of a commitment and to improve the organization of a project. While the process is going on, while you are working with what you have at hand, you should be warned against taking on any unnecessary responsibilities or long-range commitments. Only deal with issues from the past; do not take on new ones!". So, with that I think I will finish the storage re-organization project in my house, which also happens to be my work area! And I also like the part about saying "no" - a good time to really get in touch with what feels right for the long term. Wherever Saturn is in your chart will tell a more complete story.

Moon in Virgo today and tomorrow - excellent time for re-organizing and re-structuring shelves, cabinets, closets, etc. Great time to get rid of un-wanted items and clean everything - with a fine-tooth comb!! Perfect time to attend to your health - especially good for colon cleansing and getting your diet in order and "reversing" any trends toward weight gain! Remember that your body is your temple too!

A Mercury retrograde revelation! On Friday I re-connected with my voice mentor and friend Rachel Luca Chesney for a voice lesson. It has been my growing heart's desire over the last few years to be able to sing and perform, but in my efforts at practicing I am confronted by the restriction I feel in my voice. Rachel profoundly perceived that it wasn't as much about technique as something much deeper - mainly fear - that keeps my voice locked up, and that when we can unlock that it will be much easier. Well today I remembered that as a little girl I had a nasty temper and threw tantrums! I clearly remember the last one I had - I was laying on the floor pounding it with my fists and screaming - and my grandmother (who raised me) just calmly closed the door and walked away leaving me alone with my fury. I think my young psyche probably experienced some kind of abandonment and learned it was only acceptable to be a good girl, seen and certainly not heard. Good for getting along in society perhaps but bad for freedom of expression that comes deep from the gut. Time to release . . . and reacquaint myself with that little screamer I once was :)

Greetings and Happy New Year 2015!! (I'm a little late - but better late than never :)). Many of you have heard that Mercury is now retrograde - as of yesterday - and continues until Feb. 12th! Every year Mercury - the planet ruling communication, has a retrograde motion in the sky - lasting about 3 weeks, and happens about 3 times per year. Anything connected with communication and travel - such as computers, phones, cars, etc. can act up and try our patience! Apart from experiencing snafus and delays, the constructive use of this time period is to review and re-evaluate. Anything beginning with "re" actually, is good. It's about going within, reflecting, and redirecting ourselves. One of my favorite activities is to "re-arrange" - which I just did to my living room - and it's amazing how much it affected my psyche in a positive way, bringing new focus and clarity! So, have no fear - Mercury is here! Go with the flow, don't push ahead, and all be well. For this cycle Mercury is in the sign of Aquarius, which can also have an effect on groups, friendships, goals, and technology in general. Also, wherever Aquarius is in your astrology chart will be affected as well - if you don't know I would be happy to take a look for you! I would also advise to wait on purchasing a new phone or computer until late February if at all possible! If you have any Mercury retrograde stories please share!
