Our goal is to run auctions filled with good, quality items to keep buyers bidding and maximize the earnings for all of our sellers.
With a high volume of items dropped off each week, we don’t have enough staff to inspect everything that’s brought in, so here’s a list to help keep our auction quality consistent:
- Take a moment to check your items over before packing them up.
- Things that are dirty or in need of elbow grease aren’t going to bring in top dollar.
- A quick wash or wipe down can add way more money to your wallet.
(Clothing, dishes, kitchen appliances of any size are definitely the top 3 things in that category!)
- Look to make sure all the pieces are included, leave a note if something is missing.
- If it’s really old or unusual, put any pertinent information you can on a visible card. This helps bidders understand the value.
- If something doesn’t run or needs parts but has the potential of being repaired, make a note of that.
- Consider the condition — anything that’s excessively dirty, damaged or broken is not 3 Mile Auction-worthy and will not be listed!
