Booker Fire Department

We were called earlier today to assist Town Of Darrouzett Volunteer Fire Department with a grass fire NE of Darrouzett. Crews from Darrouzett and Booker were able to get it out. This afternoon however, the fire re-ignited and prompted another response. Darrouzett, Booker, and Follett Fire Departments all responded and with a good amount of effort were able to get it stopped again. Crews are mopping up now. Thanks to Lipscomb County and O&B Tank for sending water. Thanks to Darrouzett EMS for standing by.

Parts of Booker are without power tonight. Xcel shows an estimated restoration time of 1:15 a.m.

We're expecting conditions to remain hot and dry and we expect to be busy. We are running out of drinks and snacks for our firefighters to take on these big fires. A lot of the time, we leave at a moment's notice and often, that means missing meals. All Lipscomb County Fire Departments are on scene at a wildfire South of Duke Road and CR 10.

We had a busy day yesterday. Severe weather had us on high alert, then we were dispatched to a one vehicle accident east of town. We even made a friend!

We have prayed all year for rain. We've been frantically fighting fires all over the region. We've been discouraged, doubtful, and desperate. But in the end, the Lord hears our prayers, and today, we pray again to say "Thank you God for the rain!"
