From then to now:
I had always had this dream of “being my own boss.” I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to be happy in my job everyday and to help others. I sat on the phone with my grandmother one day contemplating my life goals with her, and she suggested I start my own scrub shop (she has one in South Carolina) here in Boone.
In February 2017, I began chasing my dream and putting my own scrub shop into action. With the help of my grandmother, family, and friends, I opened the doors for business on April 1, 2017. For the last year I have met many of our local medical personnel, as well as traveling nurses, students, and people just passing through. I have loved every day of it!
April 2018 I will be open for one full year. I look back and think, 10 years ago I wouldn't have seen myself where I am now. Today, I thank God for the opportunity He has given me. My goal is to treat anyone who walks through my shop door with respect and compassion, as if they were my own family. I have been blessed with support from family and this community. I want to continue to spread the love for our medical personnel.
If you haven’t been in the shop yet, I hope you come very soon. I love meeting all of our local medical personnel, traveling nurses, students, and even those “just passing through.” I look forward to seeing you, learning all your scrub likes and dislikes, and caring for you while you care for others!
