The Sealed Collective Hey there! I’m Kristen, founder of The Sealed Collective, a creative studio that combines storytelling, handmade creations, and memory preservation.

I intentionally don’t niche down because I love helping small business owners share their story, running my own creative ventures, and designing keepsakes that celebrate the moments that matter most. With over 10 years of experience in marketing, communications, and journalism, plus growing up around and working with family businesses, I bring a unique perspective on supporting local, creating meaningful work, and helping others do the same in their communities. Through The Sealed Collective, I combine this experience with handmade creations, memory preservation services, digital design, and branding, all thoughtfully connected to celebrate and share stories, ideas, and memories. I am part of the last generation that remembers life before 9/11 and remembers what it felt like when everything changed

“Never forget” wasn’t just a phrase we saw on signs or heard every September

It was something that was ingrained in us from a young age

We remember what life felt like before this day

And we remember the feeling that nothing would ever be the same after it

I remember the American flags flying everywhere

I remember the country coming together in the days + weeks after

I remember the anniversaries in the years that followed, as more stories were told, memorials were created, songs were sung, and pieces of that day became part of our history

This year, I sat down to draw each star by hand to represent each life lost

Star after star, I kept thinking about all the stories I’ve heard over the years

And all the stories we will never hear because 2,977 people didn’t make it home

Twenty-five years later, we continue to see and feel the impact in how we live each day

But there are generations of people who were too young to remember or were not born yet

They won’t remember the flags
They won’t remember the silence
They won’t remember what it felt like to watch the world change in real time

But I hope they know the stories
I hope they know the names
I hope they understand why we remember

My generation, and the generations before me, will always carry the memory of that day

And I pray the generations after me will never forget

When did showing up online become more important than actually living the life and building the business we’re trying to share? 👀

And I say this as someone who’s spent almost 10 years creating content and helping small businesses figure out how to show up online

I love what content can do. I love telling stories. I love helping a business take what’s in their head and turn it into something people can actually see, feel, and connect with

But I’ve also felt the pressure of trying to keep up with it all in my own business

And I refuse to believe we constantly need to be creating something new every day

I think we need to remember that what we’re already doing is worth sharing 🫶🏼

And that’s what inspired my 7-Day Small Business Refresh Challenge 💌

I’ve been loving the flowers growing on my deck lately, so I captured them 📸🌸

I noticed them blooming,
they brought me joy,
and I wanted to remember them

👉🏼 You know what I wasn’t thinking about when I took this picture? How I could make content out of it…

And that’s kind of the point, isn’t it?

We’ve become so consumed with feeling the need to create more that sometimes we forget the ordinary moments already happening in our everyday lives are worth capturing, too

So, live your life to the fullest,
notice what matters to you,
capture it through your unique perspective

And then let pieces of that naturally become part of the story you’re telling through your business

Your content can be authentic and still get your point across

Sometimes all it takes is sharing just a little piece of your real life
