Converse Taxidermy Converse Taxidermy is a family owned business in Upstate NY. Owned and operated by Robert Converse Jr. himself, a lifelong hunter and outdoor enthusiast!

I am a lifelong hunter and outdoor enthusiast. I also have a trapping background where I developed my skinning talents at a young age. I have a deep appreciation for wildlife and I know what a trophy means to the hunter. I study animals constantly in their natural environment and in my shop. Study and practice has greatly enhanced my ability to create a life like mount. I have over twenty-five years of experience and have done over nine hundred deer mounts. This experience combined with 100% hands on by myself only, is the perfect recipe for a finished product that looks like you should have to feed it. I concentrate on fur bearing species so it’s never a “get them out the door” production run. I reserve time and patience for quality…
In closing, I probably wrote more than you care to read after all, hunters don’t look at these websites to read the articles we want to see the pictures…Enjoy!

This post got a lot of attention. 155 out of 223 reactions are with me on this. It's not a money thing or I would charge more for the extra fees. It's trying to eliminate the frustration of an extra unnecessary labor intensive task. Thank you.

ATTENTION: There is some changes in policy for this Taxidermy season.
1). My cutoff number of how many Deer I take in will be twenty.
2). I won't be taking in Deer until the Youth season and thereafter.
3). Bullet holes in the head or neck of your Deer will cost an additional $5. per hole. I advise you to finish off your Deer through the rib cage, lungs. No meat wasted and they bleed out better. The old school neck shot is not good for your mount.
4). Excessive blood on the antlers, like in the pic, will cost you $10. additional if I have to clean it off. Dried blood on antlers can be time consuming to remove. I suggest you clean them after you get done field dressing your Deer. There is always a water source, wet grass, leaves or snow to clean them off while the blood is still wet.
5). All frozen heads, (capes), will be subject to inspection when I thaw them. Proper skinning, cutting, bullet holes, damage and or spoilage will be assessed. This could result in additional cost as mentioned in #3 or in worst case scenario void of transaction. I advise to freeze them fresh, or make sure your butcher does that. If you want to age your meat take the head and cape off first while it's good and fresh.
Thank you! Bob Converse, Converse Taxidermy.

So, question for you hunters; here is a rack with no brow tines and G3's under an inch but in the correct, typical location. The definition of a point has changed over the years from if you can hang a ring on it to one inch. To me there's still a point and then there's a scorable point. If you took this Buck, what would you call it?, a 6 or an 8 pointer. Just to be clear, I'm not asking what you would write on your tag,...onthe tag it would have to be a 3 x 3 according to the states rules and regulations.
Congrats anonymous taker!
