♻️ Help Us Keep Recycling Safe & Effective! ♻️

We are seeing a large amount of non‑recyclable materials coming into our recycling facility. While we strive to recycle as much as possible and keep material out of our landfills, we need your help to ensure items are handled properly and safely.
If you participate at one of our recycling centers or utilize Renewable Resources curbside program, please review the items that do NOT belong in your recycling bin ⬇️
🚫 DO NOT PLACE IN YOUR RECYCLING:
🛍️ Plastic Bags & Plastic Film
• Plastic bags of any kind
• Plastic wrap or film
👉 Many local stores, including Walmart, accept plastic bags for recycling.
💻 Electronics
• TVs, computers, printers, etc.
✅ Electronics must be taken to our Main Facility at 1111 S. Pelzer Road to ensure proper and safe handling.
🔧 Scrap Metal
Includes but is not limited to:
• Grills
• Brake rotors
• Nuts & bolts
• Microwaves, toasters
• Washing machines
• Lawn mowers
✅ These items ARE recyclable in Warrick County but NOT through curbside recycling.
Scrap metal is accepted FREE of charge at our Main Facility at 1111 S. Pelzer Road. Our recycling facility is not equipped to handle these items, and they can cause serious equipment damage.
🌿 Yard Waste
• Grass clippings, leaves, branches
❌ Yard waste cannot go in curbside recycling or drop‑off locations.
✅ Must be taken to the Main Facility at 1111 S. Pelzer Road.
🩺 Medical Waste (Major Safety Concern)
• CPAP equipment
• Syringes
• Prescription pills
❌ These items must NEVER go in recycling.
✅ Syringes: Contact the Warrick County Health Department (we partner with them).
✅ Medications: Contact your local pharmacy or Sheriff’s Department.
✅ Other medical equipment: Contact the company that supplied the equipment.
🚫 Items We Do NOT Accept for recycling:
• Styrofoam
• Disposable flower pots
• Water hoses
• Outdoor children’s toys
• Christmas lights
• Shoes or clothing
• Human waste
• Children’s and adult diapers
⚠️ Diapers and medical waste pose a serious safety risk to our staff and regularly make their way into our facility through curbside—please help us prevent this.
🌎 Our Commitment
We are dedicated to recycling as much material as possible and reducing what goes into our landfills—but proper sorting is essential for safety and success.
✅ When in doubt, ask before you toss! (812) 897-6155. Renewable Resources customers are welcome to contact our team at Warrick County Solid Waste with questions. Your recycling is processed at our facility.
💚Thank you for helping us protect our staff, our equipment, and our community.
♻️ Together, we can recycle the right way.
