Haven’t posted much this year but a lot going on. Pat has decided that he is getting out of the logging race. We talked about this for a while but it is just crazy how much other bigger companies are paying for bids / stumpage. But they are getting more at the markets than the little guys. About like farmers! The prices of equipment and repairs have gone crazy while the prices of the wood has not gone up for the little guy. He is going to do some trucking, which I am not in favor of, but I will stand behind his decision….for now! Funny thing…..a bid is out and he said he wanted to put in a bid. I said no, sick of seeing him disappointed! I just pray we both learn to be content with the path that God has for us. Plus, grandchildren are keeping us busy!!

Have marketplace list of equipment in comments. If you could share these it would be appreciated!!

Haven’t heard much from this page! Why? Well, the weather hasn’t been playing nice for this logger! Got the state bid job done finally. While they were on this job the Lewis County BOCES class that does forestry came and visited. The class was told that this is how logging should be done. Yup, they are the best. Proud that they take pride in their job!

What has been going on in the world with Patrick Croneiser Logging & Trucking, Inc.? Well, we have been really busy!! Our three grandsons all played football this fall and one granddaughter swam. Talk about busy. Work, some swim meets, and football games. Our granddaughter did exceptionally well for an 8th grader on varsity swim. She kept beating her personal bests and also placed third with her relay team at sectionals. Our grandson, who played for South Lewis, got hurt and just had surgery a couple of weeks ago to repair his meniscus. And our two grandson's who played for Adirondack went to Class III section C at the dome and won. What a great time we had watching all of them play and are so proud of what all of them have accomplished. Patrick and Patrick Jr. have been busy in the woods. For a while they were on the Pennysettlement Rd on a piece of property we bought and cut some of the wood off. Now they are traveling a little farther south until winter sets in. Hopefully they will be able to get there soon. Have a Happy Thanksgiving all and enjoy those who you are with as we never know what tomorrow holds!!!!

1st picture is on the job this week.
2nd picture is from the job on Pennysettlement.

On to another small job that is only a few miles from the last 2 jobs. Thought with all the rain it would be a muddy mess but doesn’t look to bad. But with the rains that are suppose to be coming again it may take longer than he wanted to be on this job. It hasn’t been a very good summer for this logging company. Not a happy boss! I hope things get better soon!

Been a few months since I posted anything. Why, well this loggers wife has been enjoying the summer with her grandchildren. Been using that pool as much as she can. Even in the rain, which they love! Pat has been really busy. The first picture from the job he just finished in Vienna. But logging has sure gone down hill fast since Fort Drum closed up. Everyone looking for other markets to sell their wood to and now we have a very flooded market. Everyone is taking limited amounts of wood. One day at a time!! Hopefully things will pick back up?!!

When Pat is hauling wood, Pat Jr and Rodney are carrying on in the woods with cutting, skidding and running the landing! Thanks guys!!

Today is cleaning up the landing. Warmer days and cold nights haven’t been so bad but with rain makes for mud. Have more wood to cut on the other side of the road but need to wait until after breakup or next winter if it isn’t a very dry summer. Got to say they do an excellent job! Don’t work if it gets too wet or if it is going to thaw without having a solid base. Great job guys!!

I believe this photo was taken last night before he left the job. Still got a pile but hopefully by tonight it will be a lot smaller. Don’t know how much longer they can work with the weather warming up and mud season on the way. Photo credit is Patrick Jr!

The other picture is of Pat and Dale Flansburg. Dale, and sometimes his dad, would stop on their jobs to visit. Pat really enjoyed them visits. You both are missed!! Photo credit: Dee Davis Flansburg sent this to me! Thanks Dee!

Finally have had the weather that loggers love. Now just stay cold for a few more weeks! Getting it done like they always do. Patrick Jr. and Pat are taking turns skidding and have help once in a while. Patrick Jr. runs the landing. Pat is doing the cutting down. Moving the wood along but they are building quite a pile. Back to what he enjoys!!
