I've taken over Scott's social media temporarily, because, honestly, he's been depressed and mopey and scared and he needs his friends to rescue him out of all that and help him get back to his happy fun totally NON-Mopey self again. I'm his friend, so are you. I need your help to help me help him, please.

I asked his permission to use his own account and he shrugged and said fine before going back to his daze, just like he did with me setting up this GoFundMe for him. Guys, he's not doing so great right now. I really need your help....

Since Scott had his MRSA infection and foot amputation surgery and that month in the hospital and then another week and then ANOTHER week and ANOTHER part of his foot cut off, y'all he just hasn't been doing so great. I've been doing a GoFundMe for him , and it was helpful at first, but things have gotten real tough lately and I'm trying to find other friends of his who care about him who can help me get the word out, help me pass this around to see if we can get it in front of the right people that can help.

It's an absolute crime.

Misappropriation of the highest order and offense.

People employed by advertising agencies or media or all the freelance garbage I see on Upwork or Fivrr and so on...

Who dare to call themselves "copywriters" when they don't even know what that really means... Much less what the big boys do.

They are sophomore level English Creative Writers, and nothing more.

They write to be creative. Some even win awards for their creative and original ad campaigns.

But what kind of RESULTS they get for the client? Hell, they don't even know the first thing about how to measure and even know if they are getting results in the first place.

Entrepreneurs cannot afford to do their marketing that way, but they get suckered in to those ad agency deals every day because nobody ever taught them better.

Me? My copy is accountable. Every word. Every ad. Every publication

Every bit of it. Measurable to the penny and I am obsessed with ROI and Return on Ad Spend and making certain the copy is effective, getting conversions and positive returns for profits.

I offer a guarantee and tie the bulk of my compensation to measurable results on the back end.

Let's see your average ad agency have the balls to do something like that.

The big boys usually do it that way if we're good enough to know how good we are and know our business and confident enough to accept the risk of small up front fee in favor of measurable back end residuals based on the real results.

And if somebody calls themselves a copywriter but isn't willing to do that...

They may not look expensive but they'll end up costing you a fortune because that's a dead giveaway they don't even understand enough about their own business to understand what they are doing.

If you find them on Fivrr and they post a rate per page or something like that, here's a Protip:

They aren't a copywriter and they don't know what they are doing.

They don't even understand the difference between a copywriter and a creative writer.

There is no such thing as a cheap copywriter. The real ones know their worth and they charge for it.

BUT... They should ultimately be free to you because they are ready to structure a deal that pays them on the back end, but pays you MORE.

If a copywriter isn't confident enough to work on a results basis, either they don't know what they are doing...OR... They don't think you do and are worth the risk of their time.

I come with a guarantee. It's a damn good guarantee and I'm fully confident in making it. It's obviously conditional.

You have to implement. You have to advertise. And you are not allowed to dictate or touch a word or my copy. I know what I'm doing and I write for results, to get your customers to take out their wallets and hand you money. I don't care whether it appeals to you stylistically or not. I'm after results.

And I'm ethical and I'm honest... But within those constraints I go for the jugular.

And I back it up with a guarantee.

Which I've never had to enact because I've never been not good enough to make you profitable.

Of course, that's with the understanding that the client acts in good faith.

I do damn good work. Let me. Break any of those rules above I walk and it voids the guarantee. I can't make profitable what you sabotage. It's as simple as that.

Other than that, though, I guarantee at least a break even on ad Spend or refund the difference so as long as you don't break the rules, you CAN'T lose money on me.

Understand another significant difference between those paddy cake ad agency creative writer types going by the sacred name that they don't even understand:

Real grownup copywriters who are there to get results for you are not just there to write ads. That's really the last step. We understand the business inside and out and the first thing we do is get in and fix your economics to optimize your business profits overall and certainly the widget or gadget or doodad you are trying to market....

We get in deep, learn all kinds of things about your process, operations, sales, the works... Then after we have optimized you there, and have studied your potential markets, we structure the offer, because, I mean, let's face it... If you already knew how to do all this you wouldn't need us. But you don't. So just accept that too.

Then, and ONLY then, do we sit down to create copy. And true copywriting is not that pansy ass stuff you get from agencies who just charge a fee for a limited campaign then try to talk you into spending everything you have on unaccountable, unmeasurable TV and radio spots they get a backend 15% secret commission on...

True copywriting tracks. It seeks verifiable results, actions, profits.
And real copywriters understand the business from all ends... And it doesn't start with giving you something you think is neat and creative and bu****it lines about "recall," which means nothing but lets Madison Avenue con a lot of clients into buying their crap.

I'm here to get you customers and sales. Not to butter you up and make you feel warm and fuzzy about how creative and original your campaign is and get you all excited about seeing it on TV.

Sure, that's fun. And if you're in it to see them get a reward for creativity and don't really care that much about making your business work, then go throw away your money the way most people do.
