Ya just never know what we'll be working on on any given day.... today it was resurfacing a John Deere 4010 flywheel. The design is literally like a giant clutch for a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

A few of our recent projects. CPVC PIPE fl**ge adapter with concentric gasket rings, support columns for a new construction house, a stand to support some piece of equipment for the plating industry, and one of the most random ones....a brand new aging cask for Defiant wh***ey. One of the stave holders that hold the charred white oak barrel staves inside the cask had broken off during shipment from the company in California who make these. We brought the cask to our shop, welded it back into place, polished the weld and delivered it back to Blueridge Distillery Which saved them and Modern Cooperage both a lot of hassle and headaches.

It's not often we're called on to make a gear here at K&L Machine. This is only about the 7th or 8th one I've ever cut in my entire career. But, a neighbor had a small crane that had a bad swing gear that he couldn't source anywhere.... initially I wasn't even sure we could do it with the equipment we have....but I put on my thinking cap and started working it out....96 cuts later this is what we ended up with. Our neighbor was just as happy as he could be.

Here's a project we recently finished. These are tank lids for electroplating tanks. These were a job to do because of their size. Our EZ -Trak has a 48" table and 30" of x travel...the parts were 60" long....needless to say it took a lot of setups, lots of relocating, and lots of attention to keep everything on track. This is just a test weld on some scrap PVC plastic that I did since I'd never welded this material before. The welds on my parts look better than the test piece, but it honestly never ceases to amaze me how strong these plastic welds are. Before I became familiar with the plastic welding process I never imagined I'd ever say this, but, I honestly wouldn't have an issue with trusting life and limb to a plastic weld that is done correctly.
