Antimicrobial-resistant infections can have serious consequences for humans, animals, agriculture, healthcare systems, and economies around the globe.

Read how our pilot with Agriculture Victoria is planting the seeds for solutions that will allow us to fight back.

New virus detection methods during the COVID pandemic led to an increase in viral surveillance. "While some...regard this as fearmongering, information like this could be the key to containing any future pandemics," writes Dr. Lindsay Broadbent in The Conversation US.

Every day, our Bioworkers' diverse perspectives, experiences, and ideas propel Ginkgo's progress toward our mission to make biology easier to engineer. To commemorate Women's History Month, Ginkgo is highlighting the contributions of female Bioworkers.

Swati Sureka, Senior Communications Specialist, kicks off the month. Swati's contributions in conveying a clear and compelling vision for the future of biosecurity infrastructure, which will not only minimize the danger of biological hazards but also make the world a better place for all people to live, are critical to our mission's success. Swati, thank you for your contributions to our success!

We’re partnering with the Rwanda Biomedical Centre on a pathogen monitoring program at Rwanda’s Kigali International Airport (KGL) to identify new and emerging viral variants.

Together, we'll collaborate to establish KGL as a new node in a global network of pathogen monitoring infrastructure. We’ll sample aircraft wastewater and collect nasal swabs from travelers on a voluntary, anonymous basis.

Our aim is to provide critical early warning public health insights to help inform strategies in Rwanda and beyond. Check out our new blog for more on how near-real-time insights can support a robust early warning system. https://www.ginkgobioworks.com/2023/02/15/pathogen-monitoring-at-kigali-international-airport/
