As we recognize Juneteenth, we remember the history behind this day, celebrate Black culture and progress, and acknowledge the responsibility we all share in shaping a more equitable society.

Pride is a celebration of joy, visibility, community, and love, but it’s also important to remember the history that shaped it. This month, we’re reflecting on how Pride grew from protest and resistance, particularly following the Stonewall Uprising in 1969, when LGBTQ+ communities pushed back against discrimination, police harassment, and systemic injustice.

And while Pride today can include parades, parties, and celebration, many LGBTQ+ people continue to face discrimination, violence, legislative attacks, and barriers to safety, healthcare, and belonging.

Celebration matters. Joy matters. And continuing the work matters too. Happy Pride Month. 🌈

Our team left the B Corp Champions Retreat in Milwaukee feeling incredibly grateful for the conversations, connections, and shared learning we experienced alongside peers from across the U.S. and Canada! One of the most impactful parts of the experience was immersing ourselves in Milwaukee’s history, culture, and ongoing work toward equity and revitalization.

Through a Black history and Bronzeville walking tour, we had the opportunity to begin at the America's Black Holocaust Museum, learn about the resilience and resistance woven into the city’s history, visit Black-owned businesses helping shape Bronzeville’s vibrant renaissance, and experience some of Milwaukee’s historic architectural spaces.

As an organization committed to systems change and justice, we know that the places we gather and the histories that we honor matter. We’re grateful to everyone who shared their stories, leadership, and vision throughout the retreat.

We’re returning home energized, challenged, and encouraged by this growing community working to reimagine what business can be in service of people, communities, and the planet. 🌎

We’ve signed the open letter organized by the American Sustainable Business Network: “Defending the Free Market Means Defending Civil Rights.”

Civil and constitutional rights are not abstract ideals. They are the infrastructure of a functioning economy. The letter calls on the Trump Administration and Congress to end ICE’s Operation Metro Surge in Minnesota and uphold the constitutional protections that allow businesses — and communities — to operate without fear.

If your organization shares this commitment, we encourage you to read and consider adding your name.

Real change is learned. It’s practiced in small groups, in hard conversations, in rooms where people are building the skills to act together. As comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the Highlander Folk School — a training space where organizers strengthened strategy, deepened relationships, and developed the courage that helped shape the Civil Rights Movement.

When meetings are designed with purpose, they move people — and ideas — forward. We’re grateful for Kalila’s reflection on how this training has supported more effective, outcomes-driven gatherings.

This holiday season, we’re reflecting on one of our core practices: appreciative inquiry.

It helps us ground in gratitude, learn from strengths, and create better conversations, whether in meetings, projects, or team reflections.

During your end-of-year reflections, ask yourself: What worked well this year, and what can we carry forward into 2026?
