May is Preeclampsia Awareness Month 💜

Preeclampsia is a serious and potentially dangerous pregnancy complication that can affect blood pressure and other organs during pregnancy and postpartum. Early recognition and timely care can save lives.

Black women continue to face higher rates of maternal health complications and disparities, with Black women experiencing preeclampsia about 60% more often than white women — often with more severe outcomes and lasting impacts.

I’ve seen first how deeply this condition has impacted the lives of women I know, both during pregnancy and after birth.

We must continue to advocate for equity in maternal care and ensure all women receive the support, respect, and attention they deserve. Too often, their voices go unheard and their pain goes unseen.

This week is Black Maternal Health Week!! April 11-17

Pregnancy and Childbirth is such a beautiful, but can be a scary experience.

Childbirth is the closest point to death, but it doesn't have to result to it.

📢🗣 Did you know that Black Women are more than three times as likely to die from pregnancy-related complications as White Women?? And two times likely to lose a child due to stillborn.

Black Maternal Death is an Epidemic that is unfortunate it happens too often. This has been and continues to be a maternal crisis and huge disparity amongst Black Women.

Use your voice remember to always speak up and make sure you are being heard. Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself and challenge those who are treating you especially if they aren't offering you the best care available. You as the Patient are entitled to ASK and KNOW about the Health and Safety of Yourself and your unborn Baby.

We have to be around to take care of our babies!

Pumping is still Breastfeeding

Happy World Breast Pumping Day!

You do not receive enough credit! Pumping is not easy! Between all the washing, the time hooked to a pump, then finally feeding the baby then doing it all over again...it’s a lot! You are a super human!

So, happy World Breast pumping day! And remember, you are breastfeeding!!
