There's no shortage of advice on hiring an EA.

If you're looking to hire an Executive Assistant...

The question isn't "Who should I hire?"

It's more like: "What kind of support relationship am I actually willing to build?"

An EA can be transactional. Or they can become a true partner.

That difference doesn't come from the title. It comes from context.

Hand off isolated tasks → you get task completion, and that's fine for some leaders.

But if you want someone who can:
→ Anticipate your needs before you voice them
→ Protect your time without being asked
→ Spot friction before it costs you
→ Understand your priorities and what you never want to think about again

They need more than instructions. They need to understand how you think.

That takes time.
Not because a great EA is slow to learn.
Trust cannot be rushed.

The best assistants bring structure, calm, and follow-through, but that can't happen without context.

Without context, support stays transactional.
With context, it becomes leverage.

So before asking whether an EA can "hit the ground running," ask yourself: "Have I created the conditions for them to truly understand how I work?"

What has helped you build a solid EA/Executive relationship?

Everyone is talking about AI.

Use it.
Don’t use it.
Use it for everything.
Be careful using it at all.

So much noise.

The question isn't whether AI belongs in our work.

It's already in our work.

The bigger question is whether we are learning to use it thoughtfully.

AI can help you draft, organize, summarize, research, repurpose, and move work forward faster.

But it still needs human judgment.

It needs someone asking:

Is this accurate?
Is this appropriate?
Does this sound like us?
Is this information sensitive?
Does this actually help, or is it just faster?

For leaders and business owners, I don’t think the goal is to avoid AI or blindly embrace it.

The goal is to understand it and use it responsibly.

The value is in knowing when to use it, how to use it, and when not to.

That is where your oversight and good judgment matters.

How are you thinking about AI in your work right now: curious, cautious, overwhelmed, or already using it regularly?

Most Executive Assistant relationships don't fail because of fit. They fail because of context. 💡

If you've ever felt like your Executive Assistant partnership wasn't quite clicking, it might not be a talent problem. It might be an information problem.

In my latest post, I'm sharing what's really behind the gap and the questions you should ask before you draw any conclusions.

The work isn’t the problem. The weight is.

I became a Fractional Executive Assistant because I’ve seen what happens when capable leaders carry too much in their heads.

Throughout my career, first in the corporate world, and now in my own business, I’ve noticed the same pattern:

Too many meetings.
Too many threads across email, Slack, and text.
Too many decisions that shouldn’t require the CEO’s attention.

Here’s the problem I’m most passionate about solving:
Leaders with big responsibilities don’t need to push harder. They need structure, clear lanes, and someone they trust to keep the details clean.
That’s what I do.

I bring calm order to the chaos through calendar strategy, communication triage, travel and logistics, board preparation, and consistent follow-through. I use sound judgment to keep things moving without adding to the noise.

And the impact is tangible. When the operational load is handled well, clients tell me they:
• think more clearly
• make better decisions
• feel calmer at home, not just at work
• stop reacting all day
• get time back for the work only they can do

That’s my why: helping leaders feel supported enough to lead well without burning out.

What would having this kind of support change for you? I’d love to hear. Comment below or send me a message.

Do you ever feel like you're doing a hundred small things… and still ending the day unsure what actually moved forward? You're not alone.

When leaders feel overwhelmed, it's often a mix of not enough time and too many moving parts that causes things to slip through the cracks.

Here's how I help clients reset:

𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗽: We capture everything on their plate in one place.

𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲: We identify the 3 outcomes that matter most this week.

𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀: I track and drive next steps so nothing stalls or gets missed.

𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘆: I build templates and systems for anything that repeats (follow-ups, scheduling, travel logistics).

Example: One client came to me feeling constantly behind, as important follow-ups were scattered across email threads, notes, and “I’ll do it later” reminders. We consolidated everything into a single list, clarified the week's top priorities, and I took over tracking next steps. Within a couple of weeks, they were feeling on top of things, deadlines stopped sneaking up, and they told me it felt like they could finally “breathe” again.

The goal is steady momentum without everything living in your head.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄: keeping track of it all, knowing what to prioritize, or finding time to follow through?
