The Boston Taiwanese Biotechnology Association is founded by a group of postdoctoral fellows and graduate students to bridge this gap and promote networking and collaboration opportunities. Brian 是生物製藥分析領域的資深專家,在分離科學(Separation Science)與生物製程分析(BioProcess Analytics)方面具備深厚底蘊。他擁有逾 20 年的化學專業經驗,研究範疇廣泛涵蓋有機合成、化學生物學與分析化學。
現任職務與核心貢獻 目前,Brian 擔任賽諾菲(Sanofi)首席科學家暨分離科學團隊經理。自 2021 年加入全球化學製造與管制(CMC)開發部門以來,他致力於為複雜生物製劑與新興治療模式推動前瞻性的分析策略。他的核心工作聚焦於分離科學的創新,並積極開發結合人工智慧(AI)與自動化技術的生物製程分析解決方案。
豐富的業界經歷 在加入賽諾菲前,Brian 長期深耕於美國西岸的頂尖生技與科學儀器產業:
🧬SCIEX(Danaher 集團)|洛杉磯都會區 (2019–2021): 領導跨部門研發團隊,成功推動創新蛋白質分離技術的開發與商業化。期間推出了 BioPhase 8800 系統,以及應用於 PA800 Plus 的多款分析試劑與平台(涵蓋 Glycan、RNA、CE-SDS 及 cIEF 等)。
🧬ProteinSimple(Bio-Techne 集團)|舊金山灣區: 帶領跨部門團隊投入蛋白質分析儀器與方法的研發,包括分析軟體演算法的開發與優化,重要專案包含 iCE/Maurice、Simple Western 系統及單細胞 Western(Single-Cell Western)技術。
🧬BioVidria(新創公司): 負責層析技術、親和材料與分析方法的開發。他運用普渡大學的授權技術,投入 UHPLC(超高壓液相層析)管柱與免疫奈米微珠的研發,以提升藥物開發與疾病檢測的效能。
學歷與學術背景 Brian 先於奧克蘭大學(Oakland University)取得有機合成化學碩士學位,隨後在普渡大學(Purdue University)獲得化學博士學位(專攻分析化學、有機合成及化學生物學)。在普渡大學期間,他為合成化學、藥物傳遞及生物分離分析儀器開發奠定了扎實的基礎,並於畢業後成功將這些學術量能轉化為工業界的實際應用。

相信大家期待已久了!我們非常榮幸邀請到免疫學與癌症治療領域的頂尖權威,哈佛大學 University Professor Arlene Sharpe, MD, PhD,擔任 BTBA 2026 Annual Symposium 的 Keynote Speaker。

Dr. Sharpe 現任哈佛大學 Kolokotrones 大學教授暨哈佛醫學院免疫學系主任。她同時也是 Brigham and Women’s Hospital、Broad Institute 及 Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center 的研究員。

作為 T 細胞共刺激(T cell costimulation)領域的先驅,Dr. Sharpe 的實驗室首先闡明 CTLA-4 與 PD-1 路徑的免疫抑制功能,為現今癌症的「免疫檢查點阻斷療法」(immune checkpoint blockade therapy)奠定了深厚的基礎。迄今她已發表過超過 400 篇學術論文,為美國國家科學院、國家醫學院及美國文理科學院院士,並榮獲 Warren Alpert Foundation Prize、Harrington Prize 等無數醫學界頂級殊榮。

Announcing the Keynote Speaker for the BTBA 2026 Annual Symposium! 📣

The wait is finally over! We are thrilled to announce that Arlene Sharpe, MD, PhD, Harvard University Professor and a leading authority in immunology and cancer treatment, will join us as the Keynote Speaker for the BTBA 2026 Annual Symposium. Dr. Sharpe currently serves as the Kolokotrones University Professor at Harvard University and Chair of the Department of Immunology at Harvard Medical School. She is also a researcher at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the Broad Institute, and the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center.

As a pioneer in the field of T cell costimulation, Dr. Sharpe's laboratory was the first to elucidate the immunoinhibitory functions of the CTLA-4 and PD-1 pathways, laying a profound foundation for today's immune checkpoint blockade therapy in cancer. To date, she has published over 400 academic papers , is an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Medicine, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences , and has been recognized with numerous top-tier medical honors, including the Warren Alpert Foundation Prize and the Harrington Prize.

In this year's symposium, Arlene will share how her laboratory, starting from basic research, explores the critical roles of T cell costimulatory pathways in regulating immune tolerance and antitumor immunity. Personalized cancer immunotherapy: Multi-adjuvant neoantigen vaccines

Personalized neoantigen-targeting vaccines represent a major frontier in precision oncology. It is designed to activate the immune system of individual cancer patients to fight against their unique somatic mutations. While identifying high-quality coding mutations via whole-exome and RNA sequencing is a critical first step, the ultimate success relies heavily on vaccine formulation. That being said, antigenic precision must be matched by robust adjuvant-based activation strategies to overcome the vast clonal heterogeneity of cancer cells and suppressive microenvironments of different cancer types.

In this talk, Dr. Derin Keskin from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute will walk us through the clinical and biological evolution of personalized synthetic long-peptide vaccines. He will explore the trajectory of this platform across high- and low-mutational-burden cancers, including melanoma and glioblastoma. We invite you to join us for a deep dive into how complementary neoantigen identification and adjuvant-based activation mechanisms are essential for the next generation of cancer vaccines.

個人化癌症免疫治療:多重佐劑新生抗原疫苗

個人化新生抗原疫苗是當前精準腫瘤治療的新興療法,其核心在於針對每位癌症患者特有的體細胞突激發專屬的免疫攻擊。利用次世代定序(WES & RNA-seq)精準得知病人的突變是研發此類疫苗的重要步驟,但疫苗能否在臨床上取得成功,很大程度上取決於其配方設計。精準的抗原選擇必須搭配強效的免疫激活策略 - 佐劑(Adjuvant),才能有效克服腫瘤的高度異質性以及不同癌症類型中具有免疫抑制性的腫瘤微環境。本次講座Dr. Derin Keskin將帶領我們回顧「個人化合成長胜肽」疫苗這幾年的發展,並探討此疫苗平台在高突變負荷與低突變負荷癌症(包括黑色素瘤和膠質母細胞瘤)中的應用。
