Discover Europe’s Best-Kept Wine Secret
Before everyone else does.
Join us for an evening exploring one of the world’s oldest—and most overlooked—wine regions. Croatia is where ancient vineyards, breathtaking Adriatic coastlines, and novel native grapes come together to create exceptional wines.
You’ll discover...
The surprising birthplace of Zinfandel.
California’s jammy Zinfandel traces its roots to Croatia, where the ancient grape Crljenak Kaštelanski originated centuries ago.
More than 130 native grape varieties.
While the world drinks Cabernet and Chardonnay, Croatia has spent centuries perfecting grapes rarely found elsewhere.
A 2,500-year winemaking tradition.
Greek settlers planted vineyards here before the Roman Empire existed
A Mediterranean paradise for wine.
Long sunny days, cool nights, limestone soils, and coastal breezes create wines that are vibrant, fresh, and incredibly food-friendly.
Orange wine innovators.
Istrian winemakers have long made skin contact “orange” wines which are now oh-so-trendy.
Exceptional quality without the famous-name price tag.
Croatia offers some of Europe’s best wine values, delivering world-class character at surprisingly approachable prices.
Join us on Sunday July 19th for a complementary tasting from Croatian Premium Wine Imports, Inc. led by co-founder Mirena Bagur. Paired with light Eastern European fare complements of DJ’s Market in Dorchester.
Space is LIMITED to 12. Please RSVP to [email protected]

Great night at Wine Emporium with Jo-Ann, tasting through a thoughtful lineup that moved from crisp, mineral-driven whites to expressive reds across Old World and New World regions.

The table told a great story: Muscadet, Sancerre, California Chardonnay, Paso Robles Zinfandel, Etna Rosso, Ribera del Duero, Margaux, and a few surprises along the way. A fun reminder of how place, grape, and winemaking all show up in the glass.

Thanks to Wine Emporium for hosting and to Jo-Ann for leading another engaging Boston Sommelier Society tasting.

Another great Boston Sommelier Society tasting at Commonwealth Wine School. 🍷

Tonight we explored Old World vs. New World wines through similar varietals and styles — Loire vs Australia, Rhône vs Bordeaux — and how terroir and winemaking shape the final wine. Bonus pours of mature Saint-Émilion and Spanish Garnacha made for a fun finish to the night.

Exploring Barolo through its five great communes 🍷

This weekend the gathered for a comparative tasting focused on the heart of Barolo with wines provided by . By tasting wines side by side from La Morra, Barolo, Castiglione Falletto, Monforte d’Alba, and Serralunga d’Alba, we explored how differences in soil, elevation, and structure shape Nebbiolo’s expression across the Langhe.

From the more perfumed and approachable styles of La Morra and Barolo to the power and structure often associated with Serralunga and Monforte, the lineup showed just how much nuance exists within a single appellation.

And because great tastings sometimes come with surprises… we opened a bonus wine from : Giacosa Nebbiolo, a beautiful reminder of why Nebbiolo remains one of the world’s most compelling grape varieties.

Great wines, great discussion, and a room full of curious palates.

🍷 Boston Sommelier Society – Monday Night Tasting 🍷

A Loire–Napa–Willamette–Nahe lineup to kick off the week the right way.

From Pouilly-Fumé to Napa Valley Cabernet, with stops in Oregon and Germany, we explored how site, structure, and style shape some of the world’s most expressive wines. Sauvignon Blanc in multiple dialects, cool-climate precision, and bold New World power all on one table — exactly the kind of comparative tasting that sharpens palates and sparks great discussion.

We’re also excited to share that Monday nights now have a new home . Looking forward to building out more deep-dive tastings in the new space.

Huge thank you to for hosting and helping make the evening seamless.

🍾 Kicking off the New Year the only way we know how… with great wine and even better company.

We rang in 2026 with a standout blind tasting hosted by Ben Oram at Commonwealth Wine School, bringing together an incredible lineup of Old World classics and New World expressions. From Chablis and Sancerre to white Bordeaux and beyond, the bottles on the table sparked lively debate, sharp palates, and exactly the kind of thoughtful tasting that makes this group special.

Huge thanks to Ben and Commonwealth for hosting such a fantastic evening and helping us start the year with curiosity, generosity, and a few delicious surprises. Here’s to another year of learning, tasting, and community. 🥂
