O'Donnell Communications

O'Donnell Communications O'Donnell Communications is a small copy and design studio for web and print. I help clients through staff loss, client disputes, and all manner of bad news.

O'Donnell Communications is a small copy and design studio for web and print things. Design:
My studio focuses on content development, branding, websites, and collateral systems for small to midsize companies who are looking to newly or differently position themselves. I work with clients on market research, logo design, copywriting, collateral construction, website development, SEO, and advertisi

ng rollout. I’m an expert at each of the functional areas in which I offer services, and I’m proud to say I write, design, and produce every comma and pixel and dot of ink that leaves my studio. Publishing:
I work as a freelancer, consultant, and contractor to support publishing imprints and publishing vendors with straightforward design, production, and editorial services, and I also help with novel, one-time projects like CMS rollout, workflow refinements, and development of media-neutral production environments. When there isn't a map or when the parameters of a project are unique or opaque, I'm unusually effective at researching and inventing durable solutions. Writing:
I’m a copywriter: I write copy for company websites, annual reports, publicity, marketing, ads, and collateral. I research and generate white papers, generally around the areas of my expertise (communication, design, and publishing). I also write representative communications, which is to say I ghostwrite letters, articles, and speeches. I'll either edit or repurpose existing copy, or create content from scratch, with an eye to finding the most correct and consistent tone and code of discourse. Consulting:
I work as a consultant to small and midsize creative firms including Design Studios, Ad Agencies, and Marketing and PR firms to help them staff up for projects, write and review contracts and proposals, develop workflow and project management resources, and build, buy, and rent equipment, software, and services. I also help non-creative companies recruit and interview creative personnel.

Note the momentum toward easy and accurate HTML / CSS layout.

For all the wonderful features it provides, CSS does a surprisingly poor job of the fundamentals of page layout. But options for richer, more dynamic pages are on their way, as Peter Gasston explains

At 1pm, my Facebook feed knew more about the earthquake than MSNBC. Isn't that the end of the app contest, or am I missing what's missing?

The idea is to make it easy for Facebook users to beef up their own preparedness and strengthen their social connections in case something goes really wrong, such as a pandemic or serious earthquake.

When Huffington Post Politics launched its Twitter account in July of 2008, George Bush was president, Sarah Palin was unknown to most Americans and the Tea Party movement had not yet been launched. Circumstances are decidedly different in the summer of 2011.

I hope you enjoy the new website! Flash is last week. HTML / CSS is today.

I focus on full-service branding projects. I frequently work with small and mid-size businesses to build websites and develop all the large and small parts of the company's narrative.
