Boston Towing & Transportation is looking to hire deckhands for our dayboat tug fleet in Boston Harbor.
These are local commuting positions based out of East Boston—not live-aboard or rotational jobs. Applicants must live within approximately one hour of East Boston and have reliable transportation. We do not currently have any deckhand openings aboard our double-crewed vessels.
The work includes ship-assist and towing operations, line handling, barge work, vessel maintenance, painting, cleaning, and keeping the boats ready for service. The dayboat fleet operates around the clock, so applicants must be available for call-outs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Applicants must have:
• Valid MMC and TWIC (AB Preferred, OS required)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a USCG drug screening
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions
Previous tugboat or marine experience is also preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
