“When a company like Orsted invests in a district like ours, it says something about who they are.”

For the Needville ISD, being ready for the consistent growth the community is experiencing requires all hands on deck. Creating new neighborhoods and building schools all takes energy—and investment.

With Old 300 Solar and Storage nearby, Dr. Paul Drake, Superintendent of the Needville ISD, sees firsthand the tangible benefits of a partnership. The tax revenue we generate goes toward pay raises for district teachers and staff. We’re able to provide power for the schools during brownouts so students’ daily learning isn’t interrupted.

We’re committed to stability for the grid and for the community, just like a good neighbor should be.

New Mexico, meet Blackwater Solar ☀️⚡

We're excited to announce we've started construction on our first project in New Mexico—a 200 MW solar site in Roosevelt County that will generate enough energy to power 56,000 homes annually.

As part of our commitment to support local conservation efforts, we made a $100,000 contribution to Playa Lakes Joint Venture to restore wetlands near the project site.

We're looking forward to being long-term partners to Roosevelt County; continuing to expand America's energy infrastructure while bringing lasting local benefits.

Safe schools are the foundation of a strong community, and no one knows that better than Craigan Colunga, the Chief of Police for the Needville ISD, near our Old 300 Solar and Storage project.

Born and raised in the area, it was a full circle moment for Craigan to come back and serve as Chief for ISD Police Department which is fully funded and operated within the school district.

Because of the rural terrain, responding to calls effectively can be a real challenge. Orsted’s construction team saw an opportunity to help. End result: a new Polaris Ranger for the Department. Whether it’s a packed stadium during Friday night lights or a buzzing weekend at the local Youth Fair, thanks to this new vehicle, Craigan and his team are ready for anything.

As the Needville area continues to grow, our partnerships do too. The money we donate and generate from tax revenue flows into the community, directly helping keep students and community members safe. Our responsibility goes beyond providing power to the grid and as Craigan said, “It means everything to have a partner who understands that."

Pasture management 🤝 solar site management.

Quentin, Jason, and Jamie are farmers and ranchers born and raised in Texas who combined their expertise to form P&F Services, a vegetation management company that keeps our Old 300 Solar and Storage site looking good. ☀️ 🌾

Using the same chemistry and methods as they use for pasture land management, the team at P&F maintains the land on site at our project and others in the area. What started as a business partnership has now grown into a deeper connection between us, P&F, and the surrounding community—we volunteer together and lend support to causes in the area.

Together we’re able to “find the good” as P&F put it, in everything we do.

This Labor Day, we’re proud to celebrate the American union workers who are building our U.S. offshore wind energy projects.

Revolution Wind, Sunrise Wind, and South Fork Wind have generated 5 million union labor hours and counting, while creating more than 2,400 direct jobs for American union workers. Bringing their dedication and specialized skills to the job every day, these union workers are building American energy infrastructure and helping bring reliable, affordable, much-needed power to their communities.

“Orsted was different from the start.”

When we built Old 300 Solar, Dwayne Anderson—known to everyone in the community as Sparky—was with us every step of the way. As the Captain of the all-volunteer Needville Fire Department, Sparky knows just how paramount safety protocols are.

We hosted training courses for Sparky’s crew and surrounding departments, running practical drills and tests, and even donated money for his crew to buy a drone to help with fire emergencies of all kinds.

Our Old 300 Solar and Storage project is providing much needed power to an area in need of grid stability—and we’re making sure we’re doing it safely, thanks to partnerships with people like Sparky. That’s what being a good neighbor to the Needville community is all about.

Powered up in Texas 🔋🇺🇸

We’re excited to announce that our Old 300 Storage project in Texas is now providing power to the ERCOT grid. This battery energy storage system (BESS) is joining a solar facility at the same site to provide a diverse suite of much-needed power for Texans—and will infuse over $40M into the local tax base over the project’s lifetime.

Using batteries manufactured in the U.S., Old 300 Storage is strengthening grid stability for the Houston area, providing local, diverse energy options—that’s energy that works for Texas.

Our first solar plus battery project turns five ☀️🔋

When Permian Energy Center was completed back in 2021, it was a major milestone for us: we became the first energy developer to operate the full spectrum of renewable energy technologies in the U.S. Five years on, Permian is still providing much-need supply for West Texas, generating enough energy to power 80,000+ American homes.

Revolution Wind is now delivering power to the grid ⚡

Built by 2,000 workers across U.S. construction, operations, shipping, and manufacturing, including more than 1,000 local union labor workers, this project is expected to power more than 350,000 homes with affordable, reliable, homegrown energy.

With fixed-price 20-year agreements with utilities in Rhode Island and Connecticut, not only will Revolution Wind provide much-needed power to New England’s grid but bring price certainty and stability to consumers.
