In the press conference on November 29th, Doug Sheff noted that, "For just a few dollars, a couple of barriers could've easily prevented this entire tragedy." Sheff displayed pictures of barriers at different Apple store locations and other areas in the actual Hingham shopping complex, demonstrating that while steps were taken to protect mechanical, electrical and even trash facilities, none were taken to protect human beings. He also noted how quickly barriers were placed in front of the store following the incident.

Storefront crashes are an epidemic in this country and the accident that occurred on November 21 at the Derby Street Apple store was inexcusable. Precautions should have been taken to protect the public. Victims deserve full and fair justice as fast as possible.

Sheff and Cook currently represent multiple victims of the recent tragedy at the Hingham Apple store. We have retained nationally renowned experts and determined that these catastrophic injuries were 100% preventable. The firm is already in the process of filing a lawsuit against the owner, developer and manager of the property, as well as Apple and the driver of the truck that crashed into the store. Spoliation letters have been sent in order to preserve evidence.

The news about a local resident who fell from a construction site at The Country Club of Brookline is devastating and unacceptable.

There is an active investigation as they believe the construction worker, who was believed to be a subcontractor, could have fallen 10-12 feet from a decking area that did not have a railing.

It is sad to see another construction accident here in Boston, and our hearts go out to all that were injured.

Working at construction sites can be very dangerous and it is important to hold contractors accountable when they fail to maintain safe worksites. It is unacceptable to take shortcuts that disregard safety protocols. When this happens, workers get injured or worse; they lose lives.
