As 2017 comes to a close, Off the Bus Communications has an exciting announcement! We have been invited to provide a wide range of press and public relations services to help Youth Enrichment Services (YES) celebrate its 50th Anniversary. YES, a nonprofit based in the South End that serves young people mainly in Dorchester, Roxbury, and South Boston, began in the winter of 1968 as Operation Ski Lift. That year, the program took 500 young people from poor families in the city on to the slopes to teach them to ski. Since then, YES has grown to include a variety of programs, including overnight summer camp, a teeming track & field program that has partnered with the Martin Richard Foundation for the Martin Richard Mile that includes able and disabled runners, and even a skateboarding camp called "Skate for Good" that alternated weeks of professional skateboard instruction with public service. Last year, YES provided more than 1,600 young people between the ages of 7 and 18 with more than 10,000 days of programs. Please check out YES's Web site (www.yeskids.org) and keep following Off the Bus Communications as we work hard between now and Nov. 4, 2018, to get the word out about our new client's Golden Anniversary!
