After we got our boxes [mostly] unpacked I started building our custom patio set. I wanted a project that challenged me and served a purpose. Pictured is the privacy wall/planters, table, and benches I designed and built. Not pictured are the hours I laid on the the ground thinking about my next steps, saw dust, and of course the spiders. My math skills were tested beyond their limits and is 100% not my strength but I learned an important lesson.. Doing what your not as great at is exactly how you grow. Happy Saturday! 🛠️🌱🌼

BABY SHOWER BLOG POST ALERT!

I have finally had a hot minute to finish up my post about the baby shower I threw with my wonderful mum in February. It was a riot to plan and even more fun to throw for my beautiful sister in law. The third lady in the women who inspire line up is the amazing, who started an organization that spreads awareness about bullying, mental illness, and su***de called . Chesney and her team educate youth about these challenging topics and create an open dialogue to bring awareness.

Next up in the women who inspire me series is the ultimate hype girl herself.. !

This girl is the craftiest, most creative, hard working, smart, ball of fun I've ever met. Seriously there is no stop to this woman. Rachel is one of those people who is always there to listen and have fun at the same time. She has illustrated a fun medial book and is currently a PA serving her community.

Basically, Rachel is the unicorn of unicorns and I almost chose a photo of her as an actual unicorn but I figured this one showed her heart even more! ✨💛

I believe we celebrate women all year by lifting each other up, supporting each other, and praising each other's accomplishments.

BUT! Given that March is Women's History Month, it seemed like the perfect time to shine light on the women who inspire me! ✨

First up is one of my best friends, Samantha. She is on a journey of reading the Bible cover to cover for the first time and shares it on her blog It has been so uplifting to listen & read her interpretations of the Bible. I'm so proud of her and the community she has created in growing closer to Him. If you are looking for a great way to further your understanding of the Word I encourage you to check her out!

I have found that I once I make something, whether it's a home project or a gift for a friend, after I'm done I typically don't make it again. I think it stems from this desire to constantly try new things and it keeps me feeling creative to embark on things I've never tried. I haven't quite decided if it's a good thing or a bad thing.. but what I do know is that it allows me to be constantly learning, something I crave.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
HOWEVER.. making the nursery rhyme figurines for my sister in law's baby shower is something I have found a love and passion in. So this weekend I encourage you to try something completely out of your comfort zone. You never know where it may lead you.

My 2018 holiday recap is finally up on the blog! It has been what feels like forever since I've actually been able to write a blog post. Here's a little throwback picture of Sam and I at a murder mystery, I bet you can't guess who we are! 😉 I'm thinking up ideas of different DIY projects I want to tackle this year and trying to figure out where my creativity is trying to lead me this year. I feel like I have been all over the place lately in different areas of art and would love to know what you all want to see!

I've always fought the warmth in my natural hair. From purple shampoos to toning it constantly, I did anything to get the red warmth out of my hair. While I was in South Dakota over Christmas I had my mum put some red-auburny color back in my hair to test it out in baby steps. Once I got back home I wanted even more warmth so I bought some auburn box dye and hand painted it in myself. I finally decided to embrace it and let me tell you.. I LOVE IT. ❤️
