FIRE ๐ฅ The journey of 1,000 steps begins with one step. ๐ช ๐ช
Had an incredible trip to DC attending the Opportunities & Challenges Facing Lebanon and The Role of Education event. It was amazing to reconnect with old colleagues and meet some inspiring new faces.
My biggest 2 takeaways:
1. Lebanon will be rebuilt once again and it will flourish as long as we educate the young, stay humble and put our differences with other countries aside. Always remember- โThe righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar in Lebanonโ.
2. When I was asked who are you here with? Who do you represent? Ouffff Such a simple answer yet so complexโฆ
My answer.. Iโm a first generation Lebanese American young professional devoted to her Maronite Catholic roots that is serving others to the best of her ability.
No not with NAM (National Apostlate of Maronites) not with NLS, not 100ALWC, not B4H, not with MYA nor MYO, UMB, nor Legatus and not even the Maronite Foundation. Although all of these Boards have shaped my life tremendously, yesterday I was representing ME, Julie. Who in fact has represented all of these at one particular time. Now is the time to combine all into one and make that impact. Past-Present-Future
Overall it was such an insightful experience! Grateful for the chance to learn, grow, and collaborate. Thank you .boumaroun for believing in me and for guiding me throughout the years. Special shout-out to a great mentor. CBM!! Wow can you believe after all these years of pushing your stubborn student ๐ .soe . for being a pioneer on this journey
