Happy Mother's Day to all who love, nurture, support, and encourage the kids and the animals in our lives!

It's another SoWa Sunday here in Boston. Come explore all the open art studios here at 450 Harrison Avenue, and bring Mom! And don't forget to visit the vintage market AKA SoWa Vintage Market in our lower level. We're here til 5 pm.

This artwork is "Someone to Watch Over Me." I find it funny how many people come into my studio, look at this piece and say, "That's me."

This weekend is FIRST FRIDAY and the spring ARTWALK in SoWa Boston. My studio will be open Friday 5-9 pm, and 11 am-5 pm on Saturday and Sunday. It's also the kickoff weekend of the SoWa Open Market (Sunday) that happens right outside our studio building May through October. Thanks to SoWa Artist Heather Buechler for being the face of this video!

Thanks to the SOWA Artists Guild for sharing this. I remember that this piece took me down a lot of rabbit holes! For one thing, it had over a hundred layers. Each person, each dog, each car, and each streetlight were on their own individual layers so that I could move them around and see where I wanted them to be in relation to one another.

“Sunday in New York” by Paula Ogier is a limited-edition digital drawing, printed on canvas and on paper. The soft color palette is meant to express the artist’s memories of the relative hush of a Sunday morning in NYC compared to the rest of the week. Hi Boston! Tonight's First Friday and the last time my studio will be open until February 6! This weekend I'll be flying off to a special place (that happens to have a warm sea and delicious margaritas) for a relaxing break. Bookmarks! I got myself a laminating machine and started making bookmarks with prints of some of my artwork. It's been a lot of fun, and even more so now that I've gotten past the figuring it all out stage.

I have a Kindle that I appreciate when traveling but in general I still love a physical book - and bookmarks - so this is something that speaks to me.

A note to Boston area folks: First Friday is this week on January 2nd, 5-9 pm at 459 Harrison Avenue. Then I am off to warmer climes for a while. My studio will reopen in February.

Hi Boston! It's another SoWa Sunday and my last Sunday open until February, as I prepare to take my winter break! It's also the last day of the SoWa Winter Festival. In case you've wondered, there is no admission fee at 450 Harrison Ave during the Winter Festival, or ever. You'll find lots of inspiring artworks and talented artists here with their doors open. And don't forget to check out the wondrous SoWa Vintage Market in our lower level. We look forward to seeing you.

Thanks to the SOWA Artists Guild for this! Leon's Frozen Custard has become one of my favorite pieces, and I'm continually amazed by how many Milwaukeeans find their way into my Boston studio and instantly recognize Leon's.

I recently had a few prints made of my new mixed media painting called Two Spirits. The prints came out very well! I like the original so much that I have yet to decide if I want to sell it or hang it in my bedroom.

In September 2024 I was at the Milwaukee zoo with my sister and my cousin. There were many beautiful birds there, but there were two pale green birds sitting on a branch against a green backdrop that really spoke to my heart. I took several photos and they became the inspiration for this new mixed media collage work, currently in progress.

This is "Group Portrait" from my new Any Fish You Wish series of art print postcards, available in my SoWa Boston studio. This weekend our art studio building at 450 Harrison is open 11-6 for the annual South End Open Studios.
