Dear Friends— I’m sad to report that this is the end. We’ve printed our last run and Goosefish Press is closing permanently. Unfortunately, most of our business was wedding related and the COVID-19 pandemic had a devastating effect on this wedding season. Simply put, this isn’t a storm we could weather and I made the difficult decision to shutdown permanently.

I bought my first press in 2005 and had the pleasure of creating things almost on a daily basis for 15 years, I had a good run and leave with no regrets at all. I’d like to thank all of my former assistants for all their help, hard work, and support, I couldn’t have done it without them!

For those of you that are former clients, thank you for your support! For those of you who were friends and admirers, I appreciate you too! I’m optimistic that my presses will find a good home and they will continue to be used to make beautiful things in someone else’s good hands.

When things open up more in the future, please visit my friends in neighbors in SoWa and spend liberally at the shops and galleries there, they’ll need the help!

Lastly, please don’t let this closure be in vain! Practice social distancing, wear a mask, stay home as much as possible, and let’s beat the coronavirus! I’m not the only small business to go under because of the pandemic, but don’t let this loss be for nothing. Stay home, stay smart, and be well. Best of luck to all of you!!

Dear Friends— Goosefish Press is fine. We are not affected by the water main break last night. However our friends and neighbors at 460 Harrison have lost everything, the lower level there had 5 feet of water in their businesses. Please keep them in your thoughts!!

Boston’s South End neighborhood was recovering Wednesday after a water main break flooded streets and buildings and forced residents to evacuate despite social distancing measures in place. The leak, caused by an overpressurized water line, submerged vehicles and caused the road to buckle near 500...

Thayer St wasn’t always galleries and posh interior designers (or letterpress shops)!!

Anyone remember when Thayer St, deep in the South End, was just a bunch of warehouses and makeshift band rehearsal spaces? And, oh, the parties! One such band was captured on film playing there. It wasn't the only band photographed there by a long stretch. But it was, as they say these days, a boy band. The irony here is that this boy band was called The Girls. Here they are in action on Olde Thayer St in 1979. Posted by The Underground. Today Thayer St is Newbury St Redux.

Thanks AIGA Boston!!

We learned so much about the power of ampersand thanks to Nancy Upper, and were amazed by the diverse ways in which the community interprets this global connector. Shout out to for a fantastic partnership, and big thanks to for hosting us!
