The owners of the 1845 Captain Consider Fisher House wanted to restore and reimagine their Greek Revival property as a vacation home that would feel intimate but ready for entertaining. To accommodate their expansive program, a historically appropriate second gabled structure was added, connected to the original by a glass-enclosed breezeway-like dining pavilion.

We’re pleased to share the second of two episodes with The Luxury Home Show, offering a personal look into Patrick Ahearn’s world of architecture, automobiles, and design.

Beginning at his home in Wellesley, the episode explores the original 1936 country house designed by renowned architect Royal Barry Wills and how Patrick has sensitively expanded the property over more than three decades while remaining true to its architectural character. Beyond the understated cottage lies a private realm designed for the enjoyment of automobiles and grand-scale entertaining, including a post-and-beam timber barn and spaces housing his collection of treasured American classics and rare Porsches.

The episode then heads to Boston’s Back Bay for an inside look at our Newbury Street studio and Patrick’s pied-à-terre on Marlborough Street, offering a glimpse into the architecture, automobiles, craftsmanship, and design that have influenced his life and career.

Throughout the tour, Patrick shares the design philosophy, craftsmanship, and architectural details behind the home, from its H-shaped layout and weathered cedar shingles to handcrafted millwork, stone fireplaces, and beautifully connected living spaces.
