In June 2004 the doors of the Courtyard by Marriott Boston Copley Square opened for the first time and during the last 21 years, it has been operated successfully and lovingly nurtured by one of New England's premier hospitality companies Meyer Jabara Hotels.

As we know all things do eventually change and there will be a changing of the guard at the hotel at the end May. We had the opportunity this week to thank MJ for all the years they have been here and for all the great memories and fabulous opportunities they have given us. In fact, we were able to celebrate the 21-year anniversary of two of our most senior members of staff, Rosemarie Blanc and Juana Calmo who have been here in the housekeeping department since the hotel opened.

We would also like to thank Mr. Eric Churchill Meyer Jabara's Chief Operating Officer who was also General Manager of the hotel at one time, who was here to thank the staff for all their years of service and to introduce representatives of the new owners and management company. A special word of thanks and gratitude must also go to the two owners of the company Mr. William Meyer and Mr. Richard Jabara who have been more than just employers to the staff. They placed their trust and confidence in us to represent their interests and their families, and allowed us to provide for ours.

On behalf of MJ, the staff would also like to thank all of our loyal guests and Bonvoy members for their patronage over the last 21 years and assure you that we will continue to welcome you back or for the first time to your home away from home in the same spirit of service. The saying is that change is good but it is also exciting and the management and staff are looking forward to a new chapter in the hotel's life, and we encourage you to watch this space.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten. We also hold in our hearts the families and loved ones who carry their legacy every day.

For the past 12 years, more than 37,000 American flags have been placed on Boston Common — a poignant tribute to every Massachusetts service member who gave their life in defense of our nation since the Revolutionary War.

It's official! Open Newbury is scheduled to return for the 2025 season.

No matter if you're shopping, dining out, or just going for a walk, these pedestrian-only days have since become a Boston tradition. With 10 Sundays between July 13 and September 21, visitors can enjoy a car-free street from 10 a.m. until 8pm, between Berkeley Street and Massachusetts Avenue.

Newbury Street is a mile-long, eight block stretch of shops, salons, galleries and restaurants. This famous Boston street becomes a pedestrian-only walkway on Sundays in the summer – and for the first time this year, in the winter.
