One of the most common wardrobe mistakes I see is buying clothes for the life you wish you had instead of the life you actually live.
I wore this look to an in-store event and it perfectly reflects how I approach getting dressed: polished, comfortable, versatile, and appropriate for the occasion.
The matching set creates an elevated look when worn together, but each piece can also be styled separately with other items already in my wardrobe. That's the kind of versatility I encourage clients to look for when building a closet.
My days often include a mix of appointments, events, running a business, and mom duties, so I need pieces that can keep up. Most of my wardrobe is made up of comfortable, interchangeable items that work across multiple settings—not pieces that only serve one purpose.
When evaluating a purchase, ask yourself:
• Does this fit my actual lifestyle?
• Can I wear it multiple ways?
• Does it work with what I already own?
• Will I reach for it regularly?
A well-built wardrobe isn't about having more clothes. It's about having the right clothes for the way you live.
What role does versatility play when you're deciding what to add to your closet?
