When we helped African Bridge Network launch their AI in the Workplace training, the goal was always to build something they could run on their own. Alongside the in-person sessions, we helped bring the program online so learners could build practical AI skills from wherever they were.

Chrissy Chuchara has been part of the online cohorts since January, and this summer she co-led the third with ABN’s own Marcus Anum. She said it best: watching learners’ “curiosity grow into confidence” is what this work is all about.

Today ABN’s team leads the program, and we’re glad to stay close as it keeps growing. Thank you, Chrissy and Marcus, and thank you to every learner who logged on ready to try something new.

We are proud to see African Bridge Network share the first results of the AI Literacy Training we built together with UMass Lowell, Cambridge Public Library, and City of Boston.

In ABNs words, the program counts 7 workshops delivered and 112 professionals upskilled and certified, across five virtual and two in-person cohorts, focused on practical AI skills for career advancement with an emphasis on Responsible and Ethical AI use.

Behind those numbers is a curriculum we designed the way we design any product.

We started by researching the people it serves and learned that the biggest barrier was rarely the technology itself. It was knowing where to start and feeling confident enough to try.

So each session gets participants hands-on with generative AI tools, helps them see AI as an opportunity, and has them build use cases for their own careers.

Many organizations face the same challenge when they roll out AI to their teams, and the same approach works inside the workplace.

We are looking forward to ABN’s Part 2 on outcomes.
