We were thrilled to celebrate the new low-income community solar array at Sportsmen's Tennis & Enrichment Center, along with our partners at Sunwealth. This 197 kW-DC project was installed at no-cost to Sportsmen's and will cover about 70% of the nonprofit tennis center's annual electricity usage. 50% of the power from this system is going to offset the electricity bills of low-income residents and 3 area homeless shelters. The greenhouse gas emissions avoided by this system will also help Sportsmen's comply with the city of Boston's 2050 climate goals through the Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO).

This project serves as a concrete example of how clean energy infrastructure is a tool that can be used to build wealth in environmental justice communities, which is the heart of Resonant Energy's mission. Next up on our Employee Owner spotlight is Priyanka Gopinath, our Director of Project Analysis.

Pri joined Resonant as an entry-level analyst in 2019. Since then, she has worked on a wide variety of projects, from small houses of worship to multi-MW housing portfolios. Over the years, Pri has helped refine our project analysis process, develop new tools for process improvement, and expand our policy knowledge — this year, she has become our in-house SMART 3 expert. Now, as a Director, Pri is an excellent mentor to her team of analysts and she is incredibly passionate about building a positive and supportive work culture -- she is always ready to rally the team for a post-work hangout or a mid-day walk.

Do you have a favorite project/initiative/memory from your time working at Resonant?
The employee-owner retreats are definitely a highlight for me. They create a space outside of our day-to-day work where we can really connect as people—bonding, getting to know each other better, and spending time outdoors together. It’s a great reminder of the supportive and community-oriented culture we have at Resonant, and those shared experiences strengthen how we work together back in the office, too.

October is Employee Owner Month and Resonant is proud to be a 100% Employee-Owned business. All Resonant employees have the opportunity to become employee owners on their third anniversary with the company and participate in collective decision-making to further the mission of the company. This month, we are excited to highlight our incredible team of EOs and the great work they are doing.

First up is one of our newest EOs, Greg. Greg joined the project management team 4 years ago and quickly proved himself to be adept at solving the most complex problems. Over the last several years, he has grown into a leader on the Project Management team, mentoring newer team members and sharing his knowledge of canopy and ground mount projects. Greg brings a fun and competitive energy to the office and is always ready to play DJ on Friday afternoons.

What is your favorite thing about being an employee owner?

Congrats to the Dudley Crossing team!

We’re proud to share that this project is now a Phius CORE 2021 Certified project, a big win for energy-efficient, sustainable housing to Roxbury’s Nubian Square.

The project includes a new five-story, 24-unit building with ground-floor commercial space and community areas, plus renovations to two historic buildings that add 23 updated, energy-efficient units.

They don't just develop solar, the Resonant Team has been very busy with some feats of athleticism this week! Congratulations to Affordable Solar Account Manager Keegan on completing an incredibly fast Boston Marathon today! We were so excited to cheer as he crossed the finish line

And congratulations to Project Manager Shelby and Sr. Project Manager Gen on completing their 3rd game in the inaugural Women's Elite Rugby League. The might not have won but you had us on the edge of our seats the entire time. Join them for their next game on May 4
