Last week, we were interviewed by CBS about the heat pump rebate landscape in Colorado right now and the numbers are worth knowing:

Stacked rebates and incentives are averaging $6,000 – $12,000 depending on system size. On a typical installation that runs $15,000 – $25,000, that's roughly half the cost covered. And this is adding another $1,500 on top.

We're installing 7 – 8 heat pumps a week across the Front Range. The demand is real because the math makes sense.

Heat pumps aren't just an upgrade, they're the foundation of a fully electric home. Pair one with solar and battery storage and you're generating your own energy, running your own HVAC, and largely operating outside the utility's pricing schedule.

Last week we had the privilege of celebrating grand opening alongside their community.

We handled the solar on their roof and the battery backup system inside and on opening day, we got to share that work firsthand. We gave tours of the battery room and spent time at our booth talking with neighbors, business owners, and curious folks who had never seen a battery backup system up close before.

That's one of our favorite parts of this work. It's not just about the installation, it's about being present in the communities we serve and helping people understand what energy independence actually looks like.

We have been working with as the electrical contractor on their BoulderMOD project, handling the electrical work for each modular home coming off the floor.

The project is tackling the city’s housing affordability and climate-action goals by producing energy-efficient, permanently affordable modular homes while training the next generation of construction tradespeople.

Yesterday we volunteered on-site, helping install floors, drywall, and whatever else needed hands.

We have been working with Flatirons Habitat For Humanity as the electrical contractor on their BoulderMOD project, handling the electrical work for each modular home coming off the floor.

The Independent Power team spent Earth Day at the 12th Annual Longmont Earth Day Celebration, and it was a great one.

This year's theme was "Our Power, Our Planet" and featured an EV showcase, a community cleanup, a mini Zero Waste Fair, and dozens of educational vendors, all free and open to the community. Events like this bring together exactly the kind of people we work alongside every day: homeowners, neighbors, and local organizations who are serious about building a cleaner future right here in Colorado.

Clean energy is not an abstract idea. It is happening in neighborhoods like ours, one home and one community at a time.
