Welcome back to our Friday series on the 4 Immeasurables!
As a reminder, the 4 Immeasurables are in every spiritual, healing, and humanistic tradition throughout time. They are…
💠Loving-Kindness
💠Compassion
💠Unconditional Joy
💠Equanimity or Peace
Today we are focusing on joy. From my upcoming book - Wild Spirit Wellness:
Ancient Medicine Wisdom for Modern Vitality, Joy, and Peace
“Unconditional Joy, or Altruistic Joy, reduces envy, jealousy, sadness and joylessness.
Traditionally it is said that Altruistic Joy is the most difficult to practice because it includes those whom we dislike or with whom we are in competition.
Let’s be real – who truly wants those we loath to be joy-full?
But as I have learned from my Native American friends– when you blame and point the finger at someone, 3 fingers point back to you…
Joy has to do with the more feminine aspects of enriching our lives. This is about unabashedly enjoying our lives, and not just being in service.
This is not about consumption, but about harmony with the blessings of the cosmos.
Joy invites us to uplift the world with our heart-full purpose, beauty, arts, pleasure, nourishment, and sensory enjoyment.”
Where in your life can you cultivate more unconditional joy?
What is keeping you from doing so?
