I’m looking forward to being part of Real Divorce Talks on Tuesday, September 15—a free live event created for women navigating divorce and the many decisions that come with it.

My session, The Financial “What-Ifs” Every Woman Should Ask During Divorce, is about some of the financial questions worth asking before making decisions that can be difficult to change later. We’ll look at how choices around the house, support, assets, and life after divorce can play out beyond the settlement itself.

And I won’t be the only one! I’ll be joined by professionals covering different parts of the divorce experience:

Nicole Newman — Choosing the Right Strategy—and the Right Professional
Christine Mathieu — Learning to Trust Yourself Again
Kimberly Lorah — Finding Yourself in the Middle of the Transition
Jayn Simpson — Designing Your Next Chapter
Judith Weigle — Secret to an Amicable Divorce

If you’re going through divorce—or know someone who is—come join us. Bring your questions, hear a few different perspectives, and hopefully walk away with something useful for the road ahead.

It’s free to attend.

I recently joined Mardi Winder on The D Shift Podcast for a conversation about one of the harder parts of divorce: figuring out what different assets are actually worth to you over time.

A settlement can look equal on paper, but a house, retirement account, and cash don't necessarily behave the same way once you factor in taxes, liquidity, future growth, and ongoing expenses.

Mardi and I talked through some of the questions that are worth asking before making decisions that can be difficult to change later—including retirement accounts, real estate, refinancing, and why I like to look beyond the settlement date and model how different choices may play out over the next ten years.

Thank you, Mardi, for having me on.

“I really want to keep the house.”

It’s an understandable place to start.

But during divorce, the question isn’t only whether you can keep it. It’s what keeping it means for everything else—your cash flow, flexibility, and retirement.

Sometimes the house makes sense. Sometimes more retirement assets do.

The numbers need to work for the life that comes after.

If you've ever downloaded six months of bank statements and thought, "Now what?"—you're not alone.

Gathering your financial documents is important.

But it's only the first step.

Bank statements, tax returns, and investment accounts tell you what you have.

Understanding what they mean for your future is what helps you negotiate with confidence.

In our latest article, we explore four questions worth answering before divorce negotiations begin—and why preparation is about more than paperwork.

How do you know if your divorce settlement will actually work?

Not whether it's fair.

Not whether the assets were divided equally.

Whether it'll support your life five, ten, or twenty years from now.

That's a very different question.

In our latest article, we explore five questions worth asking before you sign a settlement agreement.

Businesses don't make major decisions without testing different outcomes.

So why do so many women have to make life-changing decisions about their divorce settlement, the family home, and their financial future without seeing what happens years down the road?

In this clip from the Divorcing Strong Podcast, I joined Becky Sampson to discuss why financial modeling can help women make more informed divorce decisions—not just for today, but for the future they're building.

Before making major financial decisions - selling a home, keeping the house, retiring early, refinancing, investing, or downsizing - it’s smart to understand how today’s choices may shape your future over time.

The numbers tell a story. Running the scenarios helps you make decisions with confidence.

I joined Angie Weber on the Divorce Discussions Podcast for a thoughtful conversation about the financial side of divorce, the power of running “what if” scenarios, and why understanding your options can make such a difference during major life transitions.
