I have had a few calls from stranded motorist already this winter. I think we should cover a few things.

What to do if your stuck in the snow or slide off the road?

Immediate Actions
- (Stay Put)
Stay Inside: Your car is shelter; don't wander off, especially in bad weather.

- Hazards & Visibility: Turn on your hazard lights; set up reflective triangles or flares if you have them to warn traffic.

- Call for Help: Call 911 immediately and share your precise location. Text a friend or family member your location too.

- Lock Doors: Keep your doors locked for security.

- For Heat & Fresh Air (Especially in Cold)
Clear Exhaust: Ensure snow or debris isn't blocking your exhaust pipe to prevent carbon monoxide buildup.

- Run Engine Sparingly: Run your engine (and heater) for about 10 minutes each hour for warmth.
Ventilate: Crack a window slightly while the engine runs to allow fresh air in and avoid CO poisoning.

I personally keep a sleeping bag and a dry pair of socks with my winter bag in every rig I may use that winter...

I would avoid Amazon pre assemble kits. Usually filled with unusable junk.

Understand as a towing and recovery company we can sometimes get to you in the middle of the storm.... and sometimes not until road conditions are tolerable for our drivers and saftey as well. Being able to stay dry and warm is essential.
