What does 60 million pounds look like? About 3,000 18-wheeler trucks. That’s how much office furniture and equipment Installnet has diverted from landfills through our Ecoserv program.

Since launching Ecoserv in 2012, we’ve helped organizations take a more strategic approach to diverting surplus furniture during workspace renovations, relocations and closures.

Instead of treating furniture as waste, we look first for opportunities to donate, resell, relocate and recycle each asset.

In the past 12 months, we’ve:

✅Completed 263 Ecoserv projects across North America
♻️Diverted more than 3.2 million pounds from landfills
✨Donated furniture and equipment to 164 nonprofit and community organizations

For our customers, that means less waste, better use of resources, greater value from existing assets and measurable impact in the communities where they operate.

60 million pounds doesn’t happen by accident. It takes a project team that knows the decommission process inside and out, and installation partners across North America who deliver remarkable service on every project.

We’ll keep putting that experience to work to find better solutions, create more value, and raise the standard for what’s possible.

Installnet surpasses 60 million pounds of office furniture diverted from landfills through its award-winning Ecoserv decommissioning program.

In honor of our 30th anniversary, we launched the Installnet Community Impact Fund to give back to the communities we serve.

Our team nominated nonprofits that have made a difference in their lives. Six were randomly selected to receive a $500 donation.

We were excited to announce the recipients at this week’s staff meeting.

Check out these incredible organizations!

In recognition of Earth Day and our commitment to sustainability, here’s a look back at one of our largest and most logistically intensive decommission projects.

We partnered with Alfred Williams & Company to support their customer, a large national bank that had just completed a recent acquisition. The project involved refreshing seating across nearly 1,200 branch locations, primarily along the East Coast, while removing and decommissioning old assets through sustainable reuse and recycling practices. This was a project defined by scale and complexity, requiring impeccable end-to-end project management.

Throughout the project, our teams often managed work at four to five sites in a single day. Many of the locations were in small, rural communities and required direct coordination with branch managers to minimize disruption to daily operations.

The process had to be seamless, efficient, and consistent at every location: coordinating receipt of new chairs, delivery to the site, removal of existing ones, installation, and cleanup.

Behind the scenes, the logistics were even more complex.

With more than 24,500 pieces in circulation, we worked with our providers to receive, store—sometimes thousands of chairs at once—and redistribute assets. By carefully sequencing routes and logistics, we kept this large-scale project moving efficiently from site to site.

A central priority of this refresh was to divert materials from landfills while creating meaningful impact. Our team coordinated donation efforts, partnering with organizations including Goodwill Industries International, Habitat for Humanity and Christian Appalachian Project. In many cases, recipients received full trailer loads of furniture to directly support their communities.

The impact was significant: More than 950,000 pounds of furniture were diverted from landfills, with an overall 96.4% total diversion rate, and donations were made to 248 organizations across 19 states. From Pennsylvania to Florida, donation recipients shared heartfelt thanks for the support they received.

This is where partnering with Installnet made the difference.

Managing more than a thousand projects across 15+ states required more than manpower. It required precise project management, a strong, reliable provider network and the ability to bring everything together under a unified approach.

From start to finish, our team delivered consistency across a highly complex rollout, keeping usable furniture out of landfills and putting it to work where it was needed most.
