I got out my late wife’s 1959 Bernina 532-2 this week for a small project I’m working on. Her mom bought it the year Lorna was born. Still sews like it was new. She did 25 years of furniture upholstery, dance costumes for 3 dance studios, her wedding dress and all the bridesmaids dresses on this machine.

This machine was serviced 15 months ago. The customer was concerned that it would sew about 15-25 stitches and stop and give a thread break code. The thread break sensor was covered in lint and could not register that it was sewing, therefore stopping the machine before damage occurred. A thorough cleaning and lubrication and it sews like it’s supposed to.
