June is Internet Safety Month, which was first started in 2005. Since then, the landscape has changed, in regards to not only cybersecurity, but exploitation as well.
Unfortunately, hackers and predators alike have adapted, and users have adapted along with it, utilizing tactics such as multi-factor authentication, strong passwords, and recognizing spam and phishing. But...have you and your loved ones taken any steps to adapt to the new internet landscape which explicitly targets those who are vulnerable to exploitation, does little to protect from unwanted sexual imagery, and leaves unsuspecting users, especially youth, open to the tactics of predators and traffickers?!
Here are some resources to protect yourself and your loved ones online, especially the youth in your lives:
1. TAT: comment "COMMUNITY RESOURCES" and we'll send you a DM with a link! These include how to talk to your kids about human trafficking, why you should talk to them about p**n, our Youth on Transportation initiative, and our caregiver and youth resource pages.
