n8n

A numeronym is an abbreviation where you keep the first and last letter of a word, and replace the middle letters with the count of how many letters were omitted.

For n8n, the source word is “nodemation” (node + automation). n8n chose it and then shortened it using that numeronym pattern.

Here’s the “8”:
nodemation
first letter: n
last letter: n
letters in between: o d e m a t i o → that’s 8 letters

So: n + 8 + n → n8n.

"Nodemation" (a portmanteau of node and automation) was the original concept behind the project started by Jan Oberhauser in January 2018. It was shortened to n8n (where the "8" represents the eight letters between the 'n's in "nodemation") around the time it was first published on GitHub in June 2019.

Key details regarding the transition:
-The Transition: Jan Oberhauser wanted a more concise, memorable name for the project and chose the numeronym "n8n" to represent node-based automation.
-Launch: The tool was released as "n8n" in 2019.
-Pronunciation: It is pronounced "n-eight-n". (I call it 'Nathan")
-It was officially launched to the public on platforms like Product Hunt and Hacker News in October 2019, already using the n8n branding.

Now you know.

Output from a python script to grab all files and folders in a Google Drive URL, and download to local folder, keeping structure.

You can do dry runs, and best of all, it CONVERTS the Gsheet, Gdoc, etc. pointers to .xlsx, .docx, etc. so you get the whole file. Then you can commit to git, or whatever.
