You know, itā€™s bizarre. We are supposed to celebrate the human side of our businesses and as a person behind the screen, post about my own birthday and act like itā€™s dedicated by an employee or someone other than myself šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

And I shy away from my birthday because itā€™s never really felt like mine and the attention it brought always made me uncomfortable. I thought it was shy or just didnā€™t like attention, but really itā€™s because I didnā€™t feel worthy of it. Itā€™s a mindset battle that has taken years to getting to the point of admitting the truth about things like this that hold me back, make me little, attempt to leave no room for targets, attention, attacks, etc. But I am in the era of breaking those chains, walking through the fire and allowing myself to celebrate my life.

Today is my birthday. I am walking into another year of continuing to grow, to break the chains that nearly killed me, to heal, to continue climbing, to survive.

This journey has been long, and itā€™s still on-going. But I am proud of how far I have come. I am grateful to God for waiting with open arms for me to emerge from the rubble of what I allowed my life to become. I am grateful to my family for standing by my side as a climbed through the hardest battles of my life. I am proud of this business that I have grown and grateful for the connections I have made within it. I am grateful to my clients for giving the smaller, less known company the chance to prove myself and for being loyal.

Cheers to another trip around the sun and to all the possibilities that come with it šŸ„‚
