I love being outside near the water, definitely something I enjoy. The scent of the ocean, the clear sky, the cool breeze, overall magnificent. Now if I can just get some cell service it would be perfect.

When you take over a business there is a lot of uncertainty. Things don’t always go as planned, but seeing everyone at the awards ceremony with their friends and family makes the struggles worth every minute. I enjoyed seeing everyone as we celebrated and all of the great agents and employees who make F I Grey a great place to be everyday. Thank you to all who came out in support of this great team.

I often ask myself what makes someone get into politics. These men and women who choose to expose their family and friends to the public scrutiny. Often they are trying to help and make a difference. I wonder if it was worth it? Did they make the difference the were hoping? Either way it is often a thankless job. This weekend I had the opportunity to attend an event with County Commissioner Jack Mariano and Congressman Gus Bilirakis. Often you can still see the why through their actions, and that is the case with these two gentlemen. I can't wait for the NPR Mayoral Debate coming up to find out why those candidates are running.

I was reading this article today and just had to smile. When I got into the investment with Jewel Stone Title Insurance Agency and Coldwell Banker FI Grey I knew the market was going to adjust and things would get nerve-racking. However, I am comfortable where the market stands and where the market is heading. This should not have surprised anyone. We should not panic and just stay the course.

As many of you know I am not a big sports enthusiast, but I do respect good competition. Even in business, I do not worry if I have stiff competition. I actually thrive and enjoy the competition. Having competition means being in an industry that is in demand. There is plenty of business for everyone. Good luck to both teams.

We all have situations that don't go as we plan and they seem like the worst possible scenario. I always try to find the positive. In fact, today I received a call from a dear friend who received two pieces of disappointing news. The person called and said, "Tim I need your positivity and alternative ideas." They said how disappointed they were and wanted to give up on their investment. By the end of the call we were all laughing and they see another way to achieve their investment. Nothing is ever as bad as it seems and you can always find a silver lining. If your investments don't go as planned don't give up, jus look for another way.

Today was a day I thought I could focus on preparing for the end of the week meetings I had. Instead I had to make unexpected decisions. The answers did not weigh heavily one way or the other, so a decision needed to be made. Most people don't realize as business owners we have to make decisions even when the choices are not favored one way or another. It is these tough choices that prevent everyone from owning businesses. However, those few who choose to own the business must often make some not so obvious choices and live with those decisions. Once the answer is made there is a sense of relief and accomplishment.
