Last year I was contacted by Dublin Bottling Works and asked to meet with a Representative in Llano. He wanted me to Be their Distributor for their drinks in the Hill Country. As exciting as that is for me to be associated with the Legendary Dublin Bottling Works(Formerly Dublin Dr Pepper)....when it got down to the numbers...it didn't make financial sense for me to take the offer. I saw the Representative again a couple of months ago in Llano...I was in my route van...He came up to the van and made the offer...I don't think he remembered me...until I told him We had talked a year ago. I love Dublin drinks and their history, but the money just isn't there right now. I am a 3 Rd party vendor through Mason Dr Pepper....I buy their products and own my routes and machines...they sell to me for a discounted price...and I'm allowed to sell at my price. Dublin sells to their Distributor at a little discount and puts a cap on what you can sell to the stores in your territory. Their Distributor has to drive to Dublin each week to load the cases on their truck...and distribute all over to their stores. Gas would eat every bit of any profits made from sales. If Dublin could truck to each territory...it might be worth it, but til then...It isn't.
