CRM Client Success Story - Universal Injections
In construction, unpaid invoices can put serious pressure on a business.

For Universal Injections, Inc., a Texas-based soil stabilization contractor, one payment issue involved approximately $300,000 in unpaid work.

The work had been completed, tested, and passed, but the customer made it clear they were not planning to pay.

Because Universal Injections had followed the proper Texas lien process with CRM Lien Services, they had leverage. The liens created an issue that had to be resolved before the lots could be sold, and soon after, payment started coming through.
“Being able to be paid for those jobs was a huge relief,” said Deborah McCay, CFO of Universal Injections. “CRM has become part of my business. I call them my lien department.”

This is why lien rights matter. When the process is handled correctly and on time, contractors and suppliers have more options to protect their right to payment, reduce risk, and keep their business moving forward.

Read the full client success story to see how Universal Injections used CRM’s lien rights management process to recover payment and protect their cash flow.

“Should you send an Intent to Lien first?”

One question we hear often is:
“Should I send an Intent to Lien before moving forward with a mechanics lien?”

The answer depends on the state and the situation.

Some states require an Intent to Lien before a mechanics lien can be filed. In many other states, it is optional—but it can still be a helpful way to make an overdue balance clear and give the appropriate parties one final opportunity to resolve it.

Understanding the requirements and your deadline early can help you choose the right next step without putting your lien rights at risk.

A lot of project issues aren’t caused by bad work.

They’re caused by unclear communication.
Missed updates.
Assumptions.
Conversations that never got documented.

The strongest teams aren’t just skilled.
They communicate consistently.

Because when communication breaks down,
projects slow down too.

If you have to chase your own system,
it’s not working.

You shouldn’t be:
Following up on things that should be tracked
Wondering if something got missed
Fixing the same issues over and over

Your process should support you.
Not slow you down.

If it feels heavy, it probably needs to be simplified.

It’s rarely one big mistake.

It’s a few small ones.

A missed note.
A delayed update.
An assumption instead of confirmation.

Together, they cost you time and money.

You don’t need to work harder.

You need to work the same way every time.

Consistent follow-up.
Consistent tracking.
Consistent communication.

That’s what keeps things from falling apart.

Intensity burns out.
Consistency scales.

Things can feel manageable… until they’re not.

More jobs.
More clients.
More moving pieces.

Growth doesn’t create problems.
It exposes them.

If your process isn’t consistent,
things start slipping fast.

That’s when teams feel overwhelmed.

The best processes don’t feel like processes.

They just work.

You don’t have to remember every step.
You don’t have to wonder if something got missed.

You trust it’s handled.

That’s what good support looks like.

Everyone pays attention at the start.
And everyone scrambles at the end.

But the middle?
That’s where things slip.

Details get missed.
Follow-up slows down.
Communication fades.

That’s where deals actually break.

Strong teams stay consistent all the way through.
