In 1950, Alex Lyon began the family business negotiating the sale of livestock and farm machinery. His son Jack Lyon grew this small farming operation to become America's largest privately owned auction company grossing an average of 400 million annually. He did this based on the set of family values his father instilled in him; hard-work, honesty, and respect. The Lyon Auction Headquarters is still based in the same farmhouse where the company began more than 65 years ago, but we now have several offices throughout the country with a growing team to support major heavy equipment sales from New York to California.
