Northwest Snow Removal, Inc. Weather forecast for tonight: dark -George Carlin

❄️ Getting Chicagoland plowed since 2007 ❄️ You pay one price, no matter how much it snows.

Quick response time – We have multiple salt and equipment storage areas throughout Chicagoland. 50+ crews work all over the Chicagoland area during any storm with ample back up equipment and extra drivers on standby in case of equipment failure. Our “per-push” contracts feature PRO-RATED INVOICING for snow events that require more than one visit to your property. Some companies charge their custo

mers full price for daytime visits when lots are full of cars and for post-storm “clean-ups” when only partial plowing and salting takes place. Our clients are only charged a pro-rated amount based on how much actual plowing, de-icing, and sidewalk shoveling occurs during each visit. We wouldn’t pay full price for a partial job, and we don’t expect our clients to either. Our all-inclusive seasonal contracts take the guesswork out of budgeting for Chicago’s volatile winters. Exclusive access to verified weather data and informative, up-to-date industry specific knowledge for property owners/managers on our website

We purchase high quality ice melt products at the lowest prices available – and the savings are passed on to you! Dramatically decreased liability from slip and fall incidents through the use of accurate record keeping, innovative safety procedures, weather monitoring, and blizzard/borderline weather event contingency plans

Heads up! Widespread freezing conditions are on tap tonight. The exception will be in central Cook County where slightly warmer temperatures will lead primarily to frost. Take care to protect sensitive outdoor plants.

It’s a record high! Remember how I’ve been stressing that my preferred HRRR forecast model has been advertising 80° for Chicago today? Well that’s the current temperature at O’Hare, eclipsing the old record of 79° set in 1998 for March 30!

It's spring in Illinois!

5am: Snow is falling across northern Illinois this morning but should wrap up over the next couple of hours. Slick and icy roads are being reported.

03/17/2026

A period of accumulating snow is expected late this evening and overnight across the area. While snowfall rates should remain mainly light (~0.25"/hr), any snow that falls will readily accumulate given temperatures will be in the teens and lower 20s. Be prepared for hazardous travel, especially on any untreated roadways. Steady south winds could also lead to shallow drifting onto east to west oriented roadways in open areas. Slick spots may persist into the start of the Wednesday morning commute as snow is coming to an end.

03/16/2026

Wind-whipped snow showers are causing sharply reduced visibility in spots this afternoon during the heaviest bursts of snow. This is particularly the case in open and exposed areas along north to south roadways (within the darker blue shading on the inset map), where multiple accidents have been reported, including on some of the interstates such as I-57. Take it slow and keep a safe following distance when driving!

10am: Accumulating snow Sunday night into Monday afternoon across northern Illinois. Up to a couple inches across northeast Illinois with 5+ inches across northwest Illinois. The worst will be with significant wind gusts tonight into tomorrow morning which will cause significant blowing and drifting of the snow creating blizzard conditions. Wind gusts from 45-60 mph are possible.
